Effective January 13, 2014 standard lettermail for items weighing up to 30 g and mailed within Canada was supposed to go up from 63 cents to 65 cents. However for a limited time only you can still send stand lettermail at a reduced rate of 63 cents. I’m guessing they probably printed way too many $0.63 stamps and needed to get rid of them. This is a limited time offer while quantities last and Canada Post may terminate it at any time.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! I put a P stamp on a card today and will put it into mail stream soon. Had I used a 63 cent stamp, I’d have tried my luck with a mailbox.
Yes, mid-January is when the usual stamp hike increase takes effect.
They obviously haven’t planned this very well. They’re releasing 63c year of the horse and women in the olympics stamps before the rate hike, as well as another set I think.
TONS of stamps that will need to be used quickly. Real smart, CP.
I just picked up a 7 stamp of NHL teams for 63 c per stamp!
Might as well pick up stamps now before they hike up to 1$ for single stamps!
Preety, they are not selling P stamps so if you pick them up now, you will need to add postage when it increases
