VIA Rail Canada is having a discounted Tuesday special offer today, where you can save on select last minute routes if you travel by either Economy or Sleeper class. To take advantage of these savings however, you had better act quickly and plan even quicker since the special fare will only be available until 11:59pm EST.

You will also have to travel on or after Wednesday, January 28th and your return ticket must be booked with VIA Rail on or before Tuesday, February 3rd.

There is a select number of seats available at this discounted rate, but with a quick itinerary mapping out I was able to find a roundtrip ticket from Toronto to Montreal, booked in Economy, for just $88.14.

To give you an idea of what this trip would normally cost, I looked at next week’s fares for the exact same itinerary and this trip would end up costing me $42.94 more than if I booked the trip for this weekend; which is contradictory to the normal fashion, as when you book closer to your travel date it is normally more expensive.

Starbucks Canada Rewards Program members should check their e-mails this morning to see the specifically catered coupon that has been added to your account. This coupon will vary depending on what your status is, Gold or Green, and also upon what products you normally purchase with your registered Starbucks Card.

For instance, while I received an e-mail for my Starbucks Rewards Account for a 50% off coupon that can be used on any tea latte after 2pm until February 2nd, others have received different coupons for other hot beverages. Another example of the kind of coupon you could have received is a 50% off discount on any Americano you purchase after 2pm until February 2nd.

Since I regularly purchase Chai Lattes, I believe they have specially marketed my coupon to be in my interest – as your coupon will be to your personal preferences. With all these 50% off sales going on, it’s hard to know what deals are worthwhile and which ones are just stores loading off their leftover winter stock on your wardrobe. Mango Canada’s current 50% off sale, is not one of those ‘loading off’ sales, at least in my opinion. You can pick up full length winter coats for as low as $44.95 and cropped moto jackets (that can be worn anytime of year) for as low as $49.95.

Even better than the coats that are half-off at Mango is the sale they are having on their denim where you can pick up slim-fit jeans, skinny jeans, or trousers for as low as $24.95 (normally $50).
