When Future Shop had this drive on sale as part of thier 13 days of web deals, Jim had tried to find product reviews on it and came across a rewiew by Boo who had this to say about Comstar drives:Â
“Comstar manufactures mediocre products and when it comes to a sensitive items like external hard drives I’d rather spend a few more bucks and buy a higher quality product. If however you’re looking for the lowest price you could spend on a 500GB external hard drive then this is definitely the right deal for you.”
This drive was priced at $229 when reviewed by Boo, and $169 when Jim posted it for the 13 days of web deals.  While it may not be the best drive out there, at $129 its definitely a great deal if your looking for external storage. Â

Research people, Comstar is a POS and will die for no apparent reason within a year. Make sure you have other backups of ALL your data. Get a Western Digital if you want something that works. My Comstar lasted 2 weeks before it just died.
