Well you already know what I think PHD stands for but I don’t think this article means Barrie is the dumbest city it just means that they have less people with Phd’s per capita, which means really nothing because I could get a phd in Barrie and move somewhere else. Maybe it just means that more people get their Phd’s in Kingston and just never leave lmao.

I think it’s only fair to say Barrie is tied lol with Oshawa and I’m probably only saying that because I live in Barrie lol otherwise I wouldn’t give a rats a$$ haha
Barrie has “street smarts” and Kingston has “book smarts.”
And a street smarts more than a book smarts, if you get hit by it.
I’m from Vancouver, but I study at Queen’s. I think its probably just because Kingston has a lower population with a prestigious university compared to larger metro cities with universities where the number of phDs are more diluted. It would probably be more fair to look at the total number of phDs in each city to compare, rather than the per capita because then in a city with only 10 residents where 8 of them hold phDs, 80% of the people hold phDs, but in a city with 20 people with 8 phDs, thats only 40%. The second city is not necessarily smarter than the first city.

Hmm…. I Think Every City Has Both And The Bigger The Ciy The More It Shows. But Also (Correct Me If Im Wrong) But Doesnt Kingston Have A Uni. – Barrie Doesnt. (Maybe They Should Look At That As Well). Many Ppl Who Live In Barrie Move Away To Attend College Or Uni. (Do They Count For This. I.E. I Moved To Oshawa For College (Once My 4 Years Are Done Im Moving Back Home – So Which Stats Do I Go Under.)

You can live in the so-called smartest city in Canada. I’ll continue to live in Waterloo, home of U Waterloo, RIM and Perimeter Institute, among others. But you should know that when Stephen Hawking comes to Canada in June he’ll be visiting Waterloo — not Kingston 😉

I don’t think the number of PhD’s per capita is a good measure of how smart the population is. In fact I don’t think that having a PhD is a good measure of how smart a person is. The dumbest person I ever met in my whole life had a PhD.
