Friends and Family events seem to be sweeping across all of the retailers over these past few weeks, and Naturalizer Canada is not going to be the only one left out of the action. Right now, they are running a Friends and Family event, both in-store and online, where you can take an extra 30% off your total purchase. While browsing through the selection of handbags and accessories at Naturalizer, I noticed that one of the reoccurring trends seemed to be pieces with black and white colour blocking. To pay homage to Canada’s Transcontinental Railway, the Royal Canadian Mint has  released a limited edition coin series called the Canadian Home Front which will feature stunning images of the home front of Canada’s railroad during the Second World War. This first coin in the series features a detailed design of a 4-6-2 “Pacific” steam locomotive, which would’ve been used to transport troops across Canada to the training ground in Quebec.

The 1 oz. Fine Silver Coin – The Canadian Home Front: Transcontinental Railroad – Mintage: 7,500 (2015) has a $20 face value, but is currently being sold for $89.99 – as it is worth so much more than the $20 it proudly displays on the opposite side, which includes a rarely seen effigy of King George V.

Walmart Canada’s clearance section is one of my favourite places to go searching for deals, specifically on toys as they are constantly reducing the prices on popular brand names to make them more affordable for all families. There’s nothing more heart warming then seeing the joy spread across a child’s face as they open the box on a new toy, and Walmart certainly makes this event a much more affordable occasion with their rollback and clearance deals.

This Mega Bloks – First Builders – Build n’ Learn Table is currently on sale at Walmart.ca for just $20, though it is normally sold on Walmart for $25. This may not seem like a significant markdown from Walmart’s original price of $25, but when you consider that other sites, like Amazon.ca and Toys R Us, are still selling this build n’ learn table for close to $35 the reduced price of $20 proves to be quite a deal.

Another great toy deal available at Walmart Canada right now is on the Marvel Captain America Super Soldier Gear Battle Helmet, which is now on sale for just $15. Shoppers Drug Mart Canada will be running a bonus Shoppers Optimum points event this weekend on Saturday, March 28th and Sunday, March 29th where you will be abel to receive 18,500 bonus Optimum points when you spend $75 or more on almost anything in-store. These events come around almost every couple of weeks with Shoppers, but they are rather beneficial for Optimum Points members when you know you’re going to be dropping a large amount of cash at Shoppers in one visit.

For UFC fans in the GTA, you had better pack up your things early from work on March 27th to get seats for the free in-person event being held for UFC fans at the Toronto Eaton Centre in the MAC Court Fountain. At 4pm on March 27th, the featherweight champion of the UFC, Jose Aldo, and his rival Conor McGregor will be live in a press conference to promote their big fight which will be held on July 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This event is free, but will probably be limited to a first come first serve basis, so I’d recommend getting there early to secure yourself a good viewing of the UFC fighters.
