There aren’t a lot of spectacular name brand specials this week except Safeway has started another 4 Week “Summer” Buy 5 name brands get 50 bonus AirMiles. This offer comes with bonus AMs if you buy multiples of most of the 40 or so products highlighted. Buy 5 specials and you get a 50 AM bonus on top.

As I’ve said in the past:

1. I find it hard to find 5 of 40 I like or will consume

2. They often have the price boosted from the week before

3. House brands are often a better deal

4. Larger sizes without bonus AMs are often a better deal

Still, each week has one or two “Extreme Specials” with extra bonus AMs to get you started. This week there are two:

Dad’s Cookies 600g reg $5.74 on sale $4.00 Buy 3 get 50 AMs

That’s 30% off Safeway’s reg. price

Buy 3 ($12) and get 50 AMs ($6.50) so the effective price is $5.50 for 3 or $1.83 each

Safeway has it’s own Select cookies 350g at $3.00 on as a Buy 5 Get 50 AMs special. This takes each bag to an effective price of $1.70 each vs. DAD’s $1.83. However, the DAD’s are 600 g vs. Safeway’s 350g which means the the equivalent value per weight is $1.07 DAD’s vs. $1.70 Safeway.

DAD’s cookies are a good deal this week.

NOTE: Tuesday is 10% off day on a $35 total purchase that reduces the DAD’s to $10.80 for 3. If you can get a $2 We Care coupon or $5 Entertainment coupon through you could get this down up to another 10% taking it to $9.72 for 3 bags. Giving the 50 AMs a value of $6.50 you get 3 bags (600g) for the effective price of $3.22 or $1.07/bag.

These are your best bet for accumulating AMs. You can mix and match so you don’t have to buy 5 of each. As long as you buy 5 individual offers you get the 50 AMs.
