Food Basics does not accept internet coupons, only manufacture ones
Robin, Food Basics have been accepting internet coupons for a while now
My Food Basics in Sarnia doesn’t accept printed coupons….
They (and Metro) started accepting them Sept 9th, email HQ and they will call the store and remind them of the policy 🙂
@melanie- I’m in Sarnia also, and that’s also what I was told. Fallen Pixels- thanks for the head’s up 🙂
I had to call HQ about mine when they first started accepting them but they are great about them now
Great coupon, definitely. But…….
I know my Food Basics is going to need an HQ “reminder” about printable coupons. They were even wary about taking my Save.ca coupon, so I think individual locations just don’t know the policies. Expect a delay in the checkout line. They accepted my Save.ca coupon after checking with a manager, but definitely, not every Food Basics is on the same page.
Also discovered that one of the Shopper’s Drug Mart I shop at has stopped taking printable coupons, but the other SDM I go to still accepts them.
One of the No Frills I shop at has also started to reject printables, but I haven’t checked other No Frills because I’ve just been getting discouraged.
Anybody else with similar experiences of inconsistencies? I’m in the West Hill/Port Union area.
atyoung, I am not in the area, but I have found that all of the HQs are happy to call the stores and remind them of policy. Loblaws and SDM both have public policies that say they accept coupons. They can refuse individual coupons if they think they are fraudulent but shouldn’t be refusing all printables.
For SDM, go through their facebook page and send them a FB message with details, the facebook rep is very familiar with coupon complaints.
I was surprised by my Food Basics, they have never been the most coupon friendly place, but since the reminder about printables, many of the cashiers have got into couponing and now I am only slowed at the cash by giving them links to get coupons etc
Thanks, Fallen Pixels.
I think you’re right —- it takes just being a little assertive and proactive. I will have to call the Food Basics HQ because that particular location is my first location to do grocery shopping (including the SDM and No Frills).
Thanks for all the great info.
