Wondering how most Targets in Canada are..
In our region (Gatineau-Ottawa) they just feel like the old Zellers that got their floors cleaned and waxed. Almost nothing on the shelves (and this isn’t from having too many shoppers as ours probably has more personnel than shoppers).
Also, shopped at Gatineau’s store the other day a guy was complaining about the pricing being wrong on an item and they refused to give him the item free because it was a penny off the price (as it was less than 10$ advertized on the shelves. This is a pricing law in Qc). While people think a penny is a ridiculous amount to complain about, the law in QC says that you must be 100% correct at the cash as per the advertized price.
Funny ’cause it also happened to me that same moment and when my cashier agreed that it was incorrect and that the law should apply, she told me to go see the customer counter to get an extra 10$ off my item (as it was a price advertized over 10$ you get 10$ off) they also refused to do it as it was 0.02$ off the price saying it wasn’t as the penny is not carried anymore (same excuse they gave the guy). I told them that would only apply if I was paying cash, not with my interact or visa.
They should really start applying the law no matter what the price error because from what I saw a day prior to christmas with 50% off deals, the place should’ve been packed as per the Wal-Mart and the other shopping centers around that were packed.
I was basically crossing paths with the same 7 people in the toys department every 2-3 rows. Pathetic.
They are nothing like the Targets in the USA. Customer Service Counter should be renamed the “Go Away Counter”.
I’m even contemplating putting in a complain to the Office de la protection du consomateur against them…
