If you haven’t heard by now, tomorrow is the last day to cast your ballot in the provincial elections. I’m not a super political person, but I do think that it is important to have your say via such a process. So although it’s a pain, I do try to read up on the platforms of all the candidates in my area before I go to the polls.
(One reason why I’m actually looking forward to the end of the day is ’cause my phone has been ringin’ off the hook! I’ve been getting quite a few elections-related calls a day.)
If you haven’t already voted during the Advanced Polls, will you be exercising your democratic right tomorrow? If so, how do you come to your decision?
Typically I would be voting, but we’re moving out of Ontario, so I am not going to vote this time around. It amazes me that despite the fact that Dalton McGuinty broke every promise he made the Liberals are in the lead in almost every poll that is being run!
This is the second time I will have to force myself to vote. I can’t stand any of the parties.
If I wasn’t old enough to remember how Bob Rae and the NDP decimated Ontario in the 90’s, I might have voted for them just so I would not have to look at the other 2.
How sad our province has become.
I feel the same as Theresa, have to force myself to vote. Originally I couldn’t wait to finally get rid of dalton but then the other parties came out with their platforms and more and more I felt like I had no choice but to elect the leader I dislike the most. So my vote will go to the liberals with the hope that they will do the least damage. If nothing else I respect the fact that they have done some things that are unpopular but best for the economy long term(ie HST, etc).
No, not voting tomorrow, our provincial election in Saskatchewan is Monday, November 7.
It’s going to be another great election here, of course I will be voting! Pretty easy here to come to a decision!
No, I’m not going to vote… Although there are four provincial and two territory elections in eight days… We don’t have an ongoing election in our province.
I will vote like I do at every election, I just wish I voting for a candidate I really liked instead of having to choose the one I hate the least :-/
I am gonna vote for Dalton to get a kick in the ass.
This election, for the first time, I voted in the advance poll. I did it at a time that was convenient for me without feeling rushed as I so often do on election day.
It’s not voting time in BC yet
While I can understand people’s frustrations with the choices they have in the current Ontario election, the solution isn’t to force yourself to vote. The solution is to ensure that voting isn’t the only time your voice is heard by these politicians. Communicate your concerns to your MPP, join local activist groups that are working for change. Voting is important, but it’s only one part of our democracy, and if we don’t continuously hold our politicians to account, then we lose any power we might get from voting.
no, I wont be voting….no one is offering one single thing to help me in life as a single no dependants family…..its always for families or the rich sorry
I will be voting, likely voting libral as I at least understand why they did what they did. I also don’t want to see the green energy idea squashed (as it would be if the PCs took power).
I voted in the advance poll.
I will be voting Conservative to hopefully thwart the sex ed program that the Liberals are promoting. Parents should be the primary educators of their children, not the govt. See video:
http://www.canadianvalues.ca/SCC/
Is there a “none of the above” option?
I am voting… always do, but…
I refuse to vote for a man that has proven to be a liar time and again. The only time I hear or see Dalton McGuinty is when he is introducing another tax (sorry, I should have said Premium).I also disagree with the full time kindergarten program that the Liberals introduced. Now I get to pay for other families daycare through my taxes. We now have highly paid teachers running a daycare program because there is only so much children that age can learn. I voted Conservative in the advance poll. I am optimistic that they will come through with their promise to eliminate the HST from hydro and heating bills and implement income sharing for families. Yes, they may be lying to me as well but it is the old adage, “Fool me once, shame on you – Fool me twice, shame on me”. McGuinty is not going to get a third chance in this household!!
@ Theresa, you can vote for one of the minor parties, that fits your philosophy.
Yes, already voted in the early poll. Took 5 minutes.
Its going to be minority govt (bad in every aspect).
Its better to vote for the ‘devil'(lib) you know than ‘devil’ you don’t know(PC)! I would vote for NDP but they can’t make minority. I do like universal health care rather than two tire private/public… and I do care about environment as well. You should vote, if you wish to complaint in future.
Should be active not just election time but after as well…voice your opinion every time rather than just election time.
Yes,
If i’m going to Whine about it, I have to Vote, otherwise I’m just whining for nothing.
mr. mcguinty made alot of promises that he didnt follow through on as parents of autisitic children are well aware. Im really concerned about his push on windmills when we dont know the effects on health, wildlife and the use of them on formerly food producing land. although i really like the green party leader, i voted for the conservative leader in the advance pole as i felt otherwise i’d be throwing my vote away.
None of these parties benefit me at all.. all I know is I definitely cannot handle dalton mcguinty for another 4 years.. he really is the tax man. Also whos idea was it to make laundry cheaper before 7am and after 9pm.. so we have to go to work for 9 hours a day, come home and wait till 9pm to do are laundry so we can have a cheaper bill? Unreal. Also sex ed in grade 3? Thank God I don’t have kids, I’d be scared to put my kids in school with dalton in charge…
“We will not cut health care spending. It’s far too important.” (1995 PC platform, page 7).
Result: They shut down 28 hospitals across Ontario, and not to mention that they fired 6,000 nurses too as well. This resulted in the worst waiting time out of all provinces across Canada. Today, we have the best waiting time out of all provinces across Canada. Tim Hudak was the Parliamentary Secretary to the Health Minister back then.
Right now, several hospitals were and are being built in Ontario. Waiting times is the shortest out of all provinces. Yes, we still have to make lot of improvements in, but it’s certainly better off than we were during the Mike Harris era.
Right now, Tim Hudak is promising lower taxes, more jobs. This isn’t possible especially if they are planning to cut at least 2% of every government service available to us except for healthcare (Mike Harris said the same thing, but his actions spoke otherwise). This will result in more job losses.
In fact, the Liberal government has cut a large number of jobs from the Niagara region. A lot of jobs at the MTO building downtown in St. Catharines were either eliminated or transferred to somewhere else. This is a main concern of mine because the local economy in Niagara is still not where I want it to be. You can’t have your cake and eat it too though. However, I can guarantee you that the Conservatives will just make more cuts resulting in more job losses.
Tim Hudak and his party will not be able to eliminate the HST, but they did say that they will “try” to eliminate it from our utilities’ bills and more. Easier said than done. Hard choices had to be made because of the consequences that resulted from the NDP and Conservatives during the 90s.
Tim Hudak didn’t even show up for the debate in his own riding, and he’s throwing a party in Niagara Falls instead of his hometown on Election night. What gives? He’s more about Tim Hudak than he is about the province. A few days ago, the newspapers printed a story about his daughter who had a health crisis a few months ago. To me, that is Tim Hudak being manipulative and trying to get sympathy votes by using his daughter. They didn’t even say what her health crisis was, not that it’s any of our business anyway.
Dalton may not be the most honest man out there, but he’ve had to make hard choices and it resulted in being one of the most hated politicans out there. By the way, people need to educate themselves on full-day kindergarten. It’s hardly a form of “daycare”. Far from it. People assume that teachers are “highly paid”. Well, the teachers got stiffed several times under Mike Harris. Today, they are better paid, but not “highly paid”. At least not most of them, most live well off, but they are nowhere close to being rich. In fact, teachers’ salaries in Canada are $37,040 to $62,625 with four years of education, $42,258 to $73,472 with six years of education (Source: http://resource.educationcanada.com/salaries.html/). The more education you receive, the higher your salary will be.
It’s all about the taxpayers, not just you. You just don’t pay taxes, I pay taxes too.
Vote for the lesser of two evils.
If you hate those 3 parties, look into the Green Party’s platform. I did and they are getting my vote. The 3 stooges aren’t the only game in town. http://itstimeforgreen.ca/
Kind of disappointed that Smart Canucks left out Mike Schreiner. I know that was that completely unfair and ridiculous rule saying he was not allowed to speak at the debate but the Green party is growing by leaps and bounds. I was a liberals but I am so disheartened with the direction taken that I looked into the other parties and found so many of my beliefs and real solutions held by the Green party. [LOL – I sound like an ad!]
Please, make an Informed choice. Look at ALL the platforms. But most importantly, get out and vote!
http://www.gpo.ca
haha, Janie, you beat me to it! Great minds think alike. 🙂 ♥
@Kyla – “The primary educators”, eh? How’s your geometry and calculus these days…? Or, for that matter, any other other subject in our government run education system?
I’m not trying to be insulting. For all I know, you excel at Physics & have a masters in Reproductive Biology. I am simply stating the obvious; if parents were the “primary educators”, we wouldn’t use a standardized educations system in schools. Most parents are not remotely qualified/equipped/prepared/informed/experienced enough to teach most subjects, including modern (& fact rather than rumour-based) sexual education.
I obviously can’t speak to your parenting abilities or your relationship with your children, nor am I trying to — simply generalizing. When our teen pregnancy rate drops, or youth STIs aren’t running rampant, or the multitude of other problems that suggest leaving such discussions in the hands of parents is failing, then maybe we can remove it from our Standardized Government run Education System and clap ourselves on the back for what a GREAT job every parent is doing talking to their kids about such awkward, yet fundamental, topics.
It all comes back to this — better they learn it early from an accurate and informed source than believe in hearsay and urban legend with potentially life-altering consequences. By the time we start “teaching” them, I can guarantee, they’ve already started hearing whispers from their peers.
Hey Eric, you mentioned that the NDP can’t make minority. The NDP stole a pile of seats in the federal election (granted, largely in Quebec), but we surely can’t say the same for the Liberals. Don’t be too quick to discredit the NDP!
Yes, I will definitely be voting. Still haven’t completely made up my mind as to which candidate I think is best, though.
Manitoba had it’s election yesterday.
Well, the fact that NDP became the federal opposition party was hardly a surprise. In fact, it was pretty much what people were expecting since the Blocs were expected to take a big hit in the recent election.
Although I have my doubts about the NDP being able to win this time considering NDP’s past history in Ontario. It’ll take a while.
I am happy to vote LIBERAL. I remember Mike Harris and as a result I will NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER vote PC.
I’ve lived in a number of provinces and this is by far the most screwed up. I’m going to vote..as I always do.. but I’m not very happy with any one party:(
“I am happy to vote LIBERAL. I remember Mike Harris and as a result I will NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER vote PC.”
Exactly this!
Ah yes the Harris card.
If you think his austerity was bad, take a look at what is going on in Greece, the rest of Europe and the US. California is broke, its deficits and debt levels are out of control..but guess what? On a per capita basis, Ontario is worst off than California.
Yep, things will have to change here too unless we want to end up like Greece.
The austerity measures coming up in industrialized nation will make Harris look like a cub scout.
Get your plates out and start smashing and don’t forget to yell out “Opa” if Pinocchio gets back in.
If you do not vote then you have no right to complain about the government.
I will be voting tomorrow. To be honest, I don’t like the options. I am sad to say I will be one of many to hold my nose and vote for a party that I don’t really like. It won’t be the liberals or PCs; I am thinking it will be the NDP or Greens… it’ll be a last-minute decision based on how I feel tomorrow, I think.
I will be voting but for who is anyone`s guess. I thought I had decided for who but I might play eenie meenie minie moe. Don`t think it will make much difference. I believe whoever lies best gets in.
“By the way, people need to educate themselves on full-day kindergarten. It’s hardly a form of “daycare”. Far from it.”
This is not an idea I made up. I am very educated on full-time kindergarten. This is directly from the MANY kindergarten teachers I know, who have said exactly that. Kids at that age are only capable of learning so much. The rest of the time will be spent like a daycare.
Not only that, think of all the private and home daycares that will suffer because of it. You now have one person in charge of 20 kids instead of 4 daycare providers in charge of 5 kids each. Where is the money coming from to replace their income?
Don’t trust the majority of politicians. Their hot air, mostly benefits the rich & not the regular taxpayer whom is struggling.
Kindergarten every day is a very VERY expensive venture. Not only do we have to hire more teachers, but there’s all these changes/ renovations to schools to accomodate the little guys (rules about washrooms, extra classrooms etc). I have a little one in JK and I’m really glad she’s not in there every day yet. It would be way too tiring.
And I think teachers are paid very well (I hesitate to say overpaid). $80K per year for 10 months of work with Christmas and March break off and tons of benefits, sounds like a dream job to me.
I agree with you, John Doe–I don’t trust most politicians, either. The trouble is, one of them has to win. It’s in our own best interest to vote for the one dislike the least.
I already voted on an advance voting day.
Recommendation: see which candidates beyond the main 3 parties are running in your riding and give one of them a chance.
I noticed the Liberal tv ad only mentions 16 hospitals being built, the jobs (hirings) of nurses but no mention of the hospitals closed or what e-Health scandal cost the Ontario taxpayers.
At least former Health Minister Smitherman did not get to run Toronto.
Thanks for the reply AnnaV. I think we are both desiring the best for our children. For me, this means that my rights as a parent to instruct my children, especially on matters of sexuality, should not be trumped by the govt. It concerns me that parents will not have the option of removing their children from this program. Not all parents may wish to personally instruct their children on this issue, but I do, and I don’t appreciate being told what I can or cannot let my children participate in at school. I hope I have better clarified my position
Funny enough, I studied math and physics in university.
nope.
(I voted a week ago)
we had ours in alberta come and go and i am happy with the result
Here’s something for you, Leslie.
http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/curriculum/elementary/kindergarten.html
You will see that they do have a curriculum for half-day and full-day kindergarten. You are underestimating the children’s abilities to learn. Adults often assume that children are incapable of learning so much at such a young age. The fact is, children’s brains are like sponges, the more you educate them, the more educated they will become. From what I know, children are supposed to be able to play for a large amount of the day, but learning at the same time as well. They have activities that are designed to encourage children to learn and have fun at the same time.
The full-day kindergarten program is still relatively new. In fact, all teachers who are not trained to work with children in either half-day or full-day kindergarten, they have to take AQ (Additional Qualifications) courses before they do. http://www.oise.utoronto.ca/aq/. So kindergarten is hardly like a daycare. They don’t have any mandated curriculums for the daycares.
Anyway, taxpayers are already paying for it through taxes. People who put children in daycares are the ones paying all on their own. By having them in public schools, they are paying for it through their taxes too as well. Not much of a difference right there. We don’t get to decide who get this and that just because we pay taxes. In fact, all of these taxes we pay are supposed to benefit us in some ways anyway.
I hardly see the big issue with full-day kindergarten since it’s a common thing to see, especially in the USA. It’s nothing new.
its hilarious that people would vote for the last goon of the harris/eves regime. Eves has police protecting him at all times 15 to be exact. So what would that tell you ???? NDP all the way its too bad Rae screwed it up thats because his true colours came out now hes red. I wish Tommy Douglas was still alive as we would still have good health care. Oh well let the forgetters vote liberal and the conservatives . Oh well wait till the social collapse in a few years good luck all
Full day kindergarten is nothing new for EVERY OTHER DAY , esp for kids bused.
BUT full day everday is whats new. They don’t have that in the USA.
My youngest schools was one of the first to try it, its pretty hard on a 4 year old to go everyday …. think about the ones that are 3.5 when they start…
I voted yesterday for the Manitoba GREEN!
Hard on a 4-year-old child? Really? Have you ever been in a kindergarten classroom for a full day on a daily basis?
Adults shouldn’t be making assumptions about how a child may feel about a full-day kindergarten. The children are always full of energy, they are always having fun and learning at the same time. They don’t sit down on a chair and at a desk the whole day.
Let’s not make a mountain out of a molehill, the children are doing just fine. If they aren’t, then it’s the teacher who is the problem, not the children.
How am I making assumptions? ITS MY CHILD!
I think I know.. not you. You dont know my child.
Really….
There is no need to get defensive with me. We are just discussing the facts here. The facts may or may not apply to your child’s experience. It’s nothing personal.
Not all of the children are having the same experience as yours. If your child isn’t having a good experience, it’s probably the teacher who is the problem.
Besides, I’m married to an elementary teacher. She knows quite a bit about it. People are making it out to be more than it is. Like I said earlier tonight, a mountain made out of molehill is what it is.
I think it’s probably really more hard on the parents than it is on the child. The parents are the ones who have to get up early to get the child ready for school.
@Kyla I can’t believe you linked to that site. FYI, the nonsense being spouted by that organization is so outrageous that McMaster University sent out a press release about it. http://gsfr.mcmaster.ca/news/2011-12/letterOctober4_2011.html
I’m cast a blank ballot. I don’t like any of the candidates. Instead of forcing yourself you should do that.
Bradeau, you said that I was making assumptions and it’s not hard on my kid. You dont know me or my family so you can’t really assume things.
surefire way to get comments, talk politics, LOL ;-P
To everyone who isn’t voting because none of the candidates appeal to them, please remember that men and women have fought and died for our right to vote, and thousands of people are still fighting and dying for their chance at being heard.
You don’t have to choose any candidate tomorrow– you can cast a blank ballot/abstain/whatever, but at least you are still exercising your democratic right.
I am a kindergarten teacher who only teaches every other day at the moment. I can say that the full day day kindergarten program is a GOOD thing. It means the children are receiving continuity and structure, and they’ll be able to know what to expect day to day. I can’t wait for that to happen in my school. Three and four year olds are able to handle much more than many adults believe, and the program is structured to accommodate the children’s needs. It would also mean the presence of an ECE, which means I could actually TEACH those that are really ready to learn as I would have more small group and individual time with them. Beyond that, what we can we really accomplish with only two days a week at school? It is the model many provinces are adopting, and if we can relieve some of the stress of parents in paying for daycare, I think that’s fabulous.
Also, teachers teach because we love children, education, and making a difference. We do not do it for the money. Yes, there are some “perks” as all jobs have, but in lieu of my summers “off” (which are spent preparing and going to workshops), I spend 2-3 hours extra every night and many weekends working. I am always thinking about my work, so really, my dream job is my dream because I choose to put my heart into it.
Uh, the Ministry of Education has a hand in the curriculum of daycares. I found that out recently when looking up a daycare matter and found out the Ministry of Education deals with curriculum, while the Ministry of Child and Youth Services deals with inspections and licensing of daycares.
“Early Childhood Learning
We have a new commitment to provide full-day learning for all four and five-year-olds. Early learning will enhance the lifelong success of students and improve success at the elementary level.
Note: The Ministry of Education is also responsible for the program and policy development of child care and is working towards creating a smoother transition for children and their families as they move from child care into the education system. ”
http://www.edu.gov.on.ca/eng/about/whatwedo.html
Also this link:http://www.children.gov.on.ca/htdocs/English/contact/faqs.aspx#23
“Child Care
23. Who can answer questions about the obligations of my child care centre under the Day Nurseries Act?
The Ministry of Education is responsible for child care. That role was transferred from the Ministry of Children and Youth Services beginning April 27, 2010.
If you have questions about how many children may be cared for by a babysitter, the teacher-child ratio at a centre, temperature, free-play time or nutrition requirements, please contact the Ministry of Education. These kinds of standards and regulations are set out under The Day Nurseries Act to protect the health and well-being of children at day care facilities.
24. I would like to complain about a licensed child care centre. Who should I speak to?
The Ministry of Education is responsible for child care. However, the Ministry of Children and Youth Services investigates complaints and issues licenses for daycare.
Licensed child care programs have to meet and maintain specific provincial standards which are set out in the Day Nurseries Act. The standards help to make sure that the health, safety, and developmental needs of the children are being met.”
I will vote but not for McGuinty!! That man lies thru his teeth!!
no…will not be voting as I actually live in a different province…there are 9 others FYI
Definition of Liberals:
“A Group of soul-less people who have their feet firmly planted – in the air”
Mr. McGinty and his ‘team’ have taken Ontario backwards. They don’t even returns phone calls leave alone respond to letters/emails. Not a day passes when impoverished people, union works, first nations persons and ethnic minorities are compelled to write in the media about inaction, delay, and corruption within the province.
1. Human Rights Commission has been dismantled because they were dismissing complaints – like Michael Moore’s Sicko. No Judicial Commission was set-up to inquire into this matter. Commissioners Barbara Hall, a protege of McGinty continues to get paid. The Human Rights Tribunal has taken from the Commission and they continue to dismiss complaints.
2. The Public Complaints against Police was dismantled by the Tories – Mr. McGinty did not restore it.
3. Ministry of Consumer Affairs does not have enough powers to prosecute erring contractors.
4. Legal Aid is virtually ‘dead – only available for major criminal and family law matters.
5. Office of the Ombudsman continues to be ‘All Show and No Go” – legislated to oversee corruption within the province, it has now become a corrupt and inefficient – so much so another body will be needed to oversee it.
6. Gas companies are charging $20 service fee – and McGinty charges 13% tax on top.
7. Hydro customers are forced to pay ‘debt retirement charge’ – and 13% tax is charged on top of that.
8. Cable and phone bills have increased and every such increase is also taxed at 13%
9. Slowly and surely federal and provincial politicians are taking Canada backwards – and soon we will be another third world/developing country.
10. Shame!!
I cannot endorse a candidate that lies, sets 2 standards of laws for Caledonia, passes secret laws for G20, imposes taxes for necessities of fuel and home heating, gambles on “green” energy and on and on… McGuinty needs to be taken out behind the woodshed for what he has done to our once great province.
i dint vote yet, don’t know if i will have time to. normally i go on election day because every election that was ever held i always voted right in my apt building, but for some reason they aren’t doing that this time. i wonder if the PC candidate in my riding even has a chance, Micheal Harris, just typing his name bring back horrible memories
@idubyan cable TV/phone isn’t a necessity so don’t blame the government for that, as long as customers are willing to pay full price they will only go up.
If you shop around and or threaten to switch to a different provider you will find a deal. If you just need a few basic channels you can probably catch those for free OTA in HD. Unfortunately i face the wrong way at my apt and only catch CTV, so i took the 2 year contract from rogers for basic cable at %50 off. I added a HD box i purchased used so i pay about $20/mo, you can also get a phone line for about $10-15 mo, something i need to look in to again as my phone deal just ended
I Paid for my son to go to full day kindergarten at a private facility. When he joined the public system in grade 1 he was so much more advanced than the kids who had only gone every other day. I think it is a great idea.
I also do not want the Green Energy Act scrapped as that is my job! I work at a hydro utility. It is a great venture.
And as for sex education, my son is now in grade 8 and the program is very good. Someone had posted that it is our job to educate them about that. Have you ever tried to talk to your child about sex? That is the last thing that they want to hear from their parents. We do discuss it with him but he says he enjoys it much more being taught in school.
I don’t love Dalton but I dislike Mike!
I’m not a fan of Mcginty, actually far from it.
That being said anyone who thinks they should vote for Hudak because Mcginty lies is kidding themselves. Tim Hudak has done nothing but say what everyone wants to hear without making any realistic campaign promises. We;re all in trouble if either of them win.
Being an employee of an agency funded by the Ontario government, we have just finished a 2 year wage freeze. While this “wage freeze” was in place, the McGuinty government secretly gave jail guards a pay increase of 7%. Tell me how this man and his cronies are honest??? There was a time when I happily voted liberal. Those days are over.
Say what you will about Mike Harris, at least he did what he campaigned on. Hospital employees, government employees and welfare recipients hated him….but that is because he cut spending. He said he would and he did.
Ipperwash was his death knell.
Now Bob Rae, he was the WORST!!! Anyone over 35 surely remembers Bob Rae and his “social contract” days. I was in college at the time. We would get to school and there would be notes on the doors from the teachers….”No class today, I am catching some “Raes” and various other sarcastic(albeit funny) comments. The worst was having day surgery, and having a nurse tell me in the recovery room that she was not “allowed” overtime because of social contract days and she roughly dressed me while I vomited from the anaesthetic. She had me out of there on time however. The NDP forever lost my vote in 1993 and I will never believe they have the brains to run a province. God forbid Bob Rae ever gets any power with the Liberals…our country would be doomed.
NDP is a clear choice
Voted during Advance – in a rush to get rid of Dalton (liberals) 🙂
“$80K per year for 10 months of work with Christmas and March break off and tons of benefits, sounds like a dream job to me.”
NT – seriously? I’ve been teaching for 10 years and I don’t make anything NEAR $80K… wherever you are getting your information, it is seriously flawed.
Amy,
It seems that the Institute for Canadian Values may not support your views, but it must be supporting some Canadians’ views to have successfully raised the funds to broadcast and print ads. Whatever happened to free speech? I thought everyone deserved tolerance, but it seems as though tolerance is not being given to those who are against this sex ed curriculum.
NDP or PC never Liberal. His idea of sex ed disgusts me. Both of the other parties have good ideas and beleifs that I agree on , however I wish there was onother party that encompassed them both.
This is so hard and it shouldnt be. Nothing changes nothing happens, even if you vote or dont vote. Taxes go up, big companies get riches, little businesses get squashed, healthcare goes really get as good as it should, families are still poor, rich are always rich, people in power squander our money and get caught and nothing happens nothing seems to change and I cant help but feel I cant trust any of them cause nobody really makes any difference really. It’s been years with only little changes and big big mistakes and big wastes of taxpayers $$s and so many promises and bigger disappointments. I don’t know what to teach my children about voting as I dont have any faith in it anymore. Vote or dont vote they do whatever they want anyways really.
I’m looking at the NDP getting a chance to move forward.
I am voting, but not voting for any of the big names as I am totally disappointed. I have stopped voting along party lines. I don’t like the PC nor the Liberal candidate, and I don’t even know who the NDP candidate is. However, after what Bob Rae did to Ontario, there is no way I will vote for the NDP anyway! I have decided to vote for an independent, as a protest vote, and to help the independent get enough votes to not lose his deposit, or some such thing, or whatever the independent can do with my vote.
Definition – Liberals
Being so opened minded that your brain fall out.
Lie. Libel. Liberal
The evolution of lying in Canada.
A DEFINITE NO
First – The government should have the GUTS to revamp the poorly established Canadian justice system (criminals have it too easy here)
Second – It is a HUGE WASTE of taxpayers money to support any prisoner, ie: the low life, Clifford Olson, whom had kicked the bucket from cancer.
Third – Canadian pension system needs to be revamped. It doesn’t make sense that taxpayers are supporting the CUSHY PENSION of government employees & politicians.
We need a BOLSHEVIK revolution.
OMG, could I care less, you mean?
I live in Alberta. why do they have to plaster ‘ontario this, ontario that’ all over the national news?
If its a regional issue, like a local election, please restrict it to the local news broadcasts, please!
I usually go with one philosophy just like the reason i come to this site. Looking for deals that I can afford. I look into my bank account and ask myself which party can I afford?
please please dont bring up the soldiers fighting today for our right to vote. They had nothing to do with it and your using it as a pawn. First and foremost they dont belong overseas fighting for a worthless cause that is not our business. What happened on 9/11 was a setup and you fell for it like alot of others. Whatch the movie loose change second edition and i guarentee you will change your mind. Also after you watch it check the facts and watch peoples live cams as it happened no lies.
