Food Basics is making some great policy changes. Up until now, they did not offer rainchecks saying :
Starting Friday, they will not only offer rainchecks, but the raincheck will be for 10% off the advertised price!
An even better policy for me is their new guaranteed fresh policy. Despite Food Basics being the closest store to me, I do not shop there often as I find their meat and produce is not as fresh as other stores. If you are not satisfied with the freshness of any product, return it to the store for a full refund.
This change is the best of all, they will be PRICE MATCHING. This is currently being tested at select stores only. Check with your local store to see if they are price matching.
These changes do not show on their website yet, but you can see them on this flyer sneak peek.

“In the critical discount food fight food fight, Metro unveiled a plan to introduce new signs among other changes at its underperforming Food Basics chain. Starting Friday, it will offer a merchandise in-stock guarantee to that chain’s customers: if Food Basics runs out of an item promoted in its flyer, the retailer will give shoppers a rain check and a 10-per-cent discount.”
It doesn’t give any details as far as limits etc though
