We don't have a Starbucks in our small town but I'll be sure to check out this deal when we head to the city for some Christmas shopping!

From Oct. 4-10, 2011 you can get any breakfast sandwich for only $2.50 when you purchase any beverage. Their breakfast sandwiches include Veggie Artisan, Sausage Egg & Cheese, Reduced-Fat Turkey Bacon With Egg Whites, Black Forest Ham Parmesan Frittata & Cheddar, and Bacon Gouda Cheese & Egg Frittata. These all sound good in theory but I just hate that they microwave it because it turns the bread chewy. Do you like Starbucks' breakfast sandwiches?
Starbucks Canada is launching their My Starbucks Rewards program in Canada on October 4, 2011. The current rewards card offers freebies on your birthday, free refills, drink customization and more. The new rewards program will include all the old "perks" and allow customers to receive points towards free drinks. Stars will be rewarded every time you make a purchase with your registered Starbucks Rewards card. The more stars you accumulate, the more rewards you will receive. Starbucks Canada is encouraging everyone to join them for Frappuccino Happy Hour, May 6-15, 2011 from 3-5PM for half-price Frappuccino blended beverages at participating stores. I am sure most of you have a favourite, however if you are unsure of what you like or if you think you can make an existing recipe better, click here to create your own frappuccino from scratch. On April 22nd to celebrate Earth Day Starbucks is offering a free coffee or tea when you bring in your reusable mug. They've offered this freebie for quite a few years now and it's a great incentive to reuse your mug. Is there anything special you will do on Earth Day? I was thinking I might get dressed before noon and go work on my garden.

I came across this hilarious video on reddit.com! On top of learning how to make coffee in the desert I found out that there is such a thing as a "boot band"

It's not a lollipop, a piece of cake, or even a cake on a stick, but a Cake Pop. There are 3 flavours which are part of Starbucks' new line of treats called "Petites". Each Petite is supposed to be under 200 calories.
Despite the low-ish calorie count, don't let it fool you into thinking that it's "healthy" as the list of (at least half of) the ingredients reads like a chemistry textbook! Click here to read what's in the Tiramisu Cake Pop.
A barista was handing out these artery clogging fakies and for some reason, I choose the Tiramisu flavour. (I dunno why 'cause I think Tiramisu is gross!) I also had a nibble of the ballet pink Birthday Cake Pop. Visually, the Petites sure look cute!
Verdict? Both were surrounded by a soft, fake chocolate shell and super sweet with the Tiramisu taking the "cake". (It didn't taste like Tiramisu, btw.) The texture of the inside reminded me of marzipan, but it didn't taste like almonds. I literally looked 'round to see if there was a poster with a description of what I was eating 'cause I didn't have the faintest.
According to other blogs they're like $1.50USD/ea which will likely equal $2CAD with a broken down currency calculator. We always get the shaft!
The next time I'm at Starbucks and feel like something sweet, I think I'll bypass the Petites and bakery items (just as bad - I checked!), and just add a bit of honey/raw sugar to my coffee.
I love Starbucks. They are celebrating their 40th birthday and giving all their customers a little treat. This Thursday-Saturday from 2pm to 5pm buy a drink and get a small Petite for free! For those of you that don't know what a Petite is, they are delectable little treats that are under 200 calories. Yummy and less remorse educing then other treats (oh and free!).
