I was out for a walk last night when I saw something I honestly never thought I would see again in Canada — gas under $1.
It’s been a few years since I’ve owned a car, but as a concerned former motorist I’ve tried to stay as aware of current gas conditions as I can. And while I know things have been going down, I never in a million years would have expected it to be under a dollar. But there it is — 99.7.
It’s not just an anomaly either — the Esso down the block was at 99.9. Now maybe if we all wish hard enough we can magically transport back to the days of 62.5.
Sorry about the poor picture quality — that’s what a cheap cellphone in the middle of the night will get you. How are gas prices in your neck of the woods?
I live in Nova Scotia… we are down to 103.8! Which is pretty good considering what its been… I’ll be happier when I see it under a 1.00 as well!
Oh god, that looks so magnificent.
I live in BC and I think we’re down by a little.
In Thornhill it’s 96.3!
That’s Ontario for those who are not in the GTA … sorry!
Ottawa is like 92 cents.
We paid 96 cents at 711 in Orangeville last nite….
96 in Hamilton and area..
97 in stratford
Imperialist Americans!
It’s 96.9 in Calgary!
kitchener ontario is 94.3
Typical it is 112.9 in BC 🙁
Its 101.9 in Moncton, New Brunswick.
Don’t think we will see gas price below $1 but still better than a few month back. It was over $1.50, scary.
95 all weekend in Kitchener Ontario
pumpy where did you get it for 94.3???
I was so excited about the 95 I filled up on saturday – went to T.O. and then filled up again tonight!
i am in London and it is 96.7 here
109.9 Winnipeg Manitoba
Saskatoon, Sk gas is at 105.9
Wish it were even cheaper but I guess I can’t complain compared to the price it was at!
we saw 95 today 😉
It is true that gas prices are much lower now (it should be even lower given the circumstances), but look at the economy. People have lost a lot of money in the stock market and a lot of people are their losing jobs (i.e. auto plants). I’m not celebrating.
still 1.02 here in lower sackville, ns.
Check out Ontario gas prices.com It will tell you where the cheapest gas is especially if you happen to be travelling.
89.9 this morning in Ottawa
99,4 in Gatineau (QC)
However, it’s the cheapest area you can buy on Quebec side. Most areas (except Outaouais) goes around 108.
89.9 in Ottawa this morning???? OMG! I never thought I would ever hear of the gas dropping that low ever again. Here in Sturgeon Falls it was 103.6 last night….which is a huge drop as it was up to 1.45 not too long ago. I still don’t understand why our gas prices here are still up to .10/l higher then other places like Ottawa. The highway literally runs right through our town and the trucks have to go right through here to deliver the gas so you would think it would be cheaper? Guess I don’t understand how they base these things.
Might I add though that while it is nice to see the gas drop down again, it is also kind of scary because of the way the economy is going. Thankfully I haven’t been affected yet, but I know a lot of people have and it’s sad.
107 in Quebec City 🙁
I drove from Ottawa to Sudbury this weekend, Ottawa < $1, Sudbury and North Bay, etc.. pretty much anywhere past Arnprior was still around $1.05. Big disconnect!
We filled up at 103 last night, Port Moody BC.
Driving through Carlton place (just outside ottawa) this morning and gas was 89.1. It seems like Ottawa might be the lowest in the country?
89?!?! OMG that’s awesome! mail me some please! lol
