Damn it! Why can’t the 16 GB be on sale 🙁

  2. Edi says:

This was an error in the flyer and price corrections should be visible in the stores. The item is not on sale.

  3. shirley says:

the website doesnt have this correction listed though?

  4. user says:

What?! No comment from Alex yet about how Walmart is going to single-handedly ruin the earth? I am SHOCKED> lol

  5. Glen says:

    :o!!!!!

  6. eri says:

I think Alex has his heart in the right place (and I don’t think it is fair to take a jab at him in the comments) but in most cases pragmatism trumps idealism…the world isn’t that black & white

  7. morganpower says:

I’m just curious why Edi said it was wrong? I wonder when they will change it? The sale is supposed to start Saturday, maybe that’s when they’ll add it to the corrections list.
If not, that’s an awesome deal and I’m SO getting one for my hubby!
Also, would Future shop know that it’s wrong if I took the flyer in and got them to price match it?

  8. mememe says:

it does get to be a little much though. i mean i understand him making his point ONCE but you know, everytime the store is mentioned … …

  9. melanie says:

Yeah, I was in walmart today picking up some things and they had those signs posted everywhere through the store, including the entrance doors

  10. Rachel says:

My sister works at BB, they got an e-mail this morning telling them NOT to price match the Ipod because it was a mistake.

  11. Sally says:

I agree with you meme, especially with no explanation of the reason why.

  12. David says:

I knew something was wrong with this picture. A hot item like an Ipod is not going to decrease in market value by 40% or so overnight, regardless of any supply and demand issues. These things cost more than that at wholesale prices ($229, IIRC).

  13. Tripper says:

I tried to price match this at Best Buy this morning (I was there for another reason). The lady in front of me bought 2 for $169 (price match less difference). The guy in front of her bought one. Then in the middle of my transaction (credit card checking was slow had to switch check-out machines) the sales manager comes by and says it’s been confirmed by head office that his was a typo. Told me tough cookies he can’t sell it to me for that price.

I argued but to no avail. Not my lucky day.

  14. Sara says:

Eri, aren’t you the same person who made some pretty judgemental comments about formula feeding mothers!! But hey don’t judge others right?

  15. Rachel says:

If you’re the same Sara who commented in the GoodStart post, Eri actually agreed with your entire post about being judgemental, so no it wasn’t her.

  16. Sara says:

Wrong Sara but I was refering to her first comment.

  17. Eri says:

No idea why I would be judgmental, I formula fed my baby since she was 5 weeks old.

  18. eri says:

can you please find my comment on that post, I can only find two very insubstantial comments, one of which was agreeing with you…

  19. eri says:

this was my first post of the entire formula thread:

thank you for speaking on behalf of all infants everywhere! god bless you

if it offends you than I am sorry, it was in response to the previous poster who was ranting on and insulting formula feeding mothers

  20. Sara says:

Sorry. I must have misread, it seemed in agreement to the previous poster.

  21. Jane says:

When I went into Walmart, they told me that it was for a refurbished ipod touch. There were no signs in the store saying it was a mistake and the sales guy said they would be getting some in and to keep checking. Just don’t know…

  22. Joan says:

This whole promotion smells kind of fishy. I don’t know either.

  23. tattoodprincess says:

It was a typo in the flyer. We were told about it today @ work. The 8 gig is $279.83. No store should be honouring that price. They’ll lose way too much money on it.

  24. Saskboy says:

I figured it was too good to be true, I was even considering breaking down and getting one at that price even if it is just 8 Gigs it still works for a mobile web browser.

  25. tattoodprincess says:

you have to be careful even attempting to use it as a mobile web browser. Last I heard, you could only use that feature @ participating starbucks locations. But that may have changed.

  26. roseofblack25 says:

yep its a mistake 🙁 I was going to get one too
they had it posted everywhere in the store that it was a misprint grr

  27. Lezlo says:

im almost thinking it was a marketing scheme, get people in the doors eh.

    Pretty magor thing to typo.

  28. Heidi says:

I’m feeling that your right Lezlo about this being a marketing scheme. It’s kind of like a bait and switch without having the bait.

  29. shayle says:

    is this in canada?

  30. nick says:

Hey sara r u the same sara from astavista as one of the alrgest uploaders

  31. maggie says:

hey heres a thought, all the off topic yapping you guys do should be done in your own blog….that way those of us who are here for pricing research wouldn’t have to read through useless blabber!!

  32. Cathy says:

so if the 8GB ipod touch does not cost $179.83 🙁 than how much does it cost??? cause i think 179 is a reasonable pirce! :O

  33. EDI is completly wrong says:

“This was an error in the flyer and price corrections should be visible in the stores. The item is not on sale”

dont worry people this product is indeed selling for 179.99, well in canada anyway. I work as a manager in the Burlington, Ontario walmart and we have a huge stock so come on by.

  34. kermit says:

    Bullshit.

The link to the flyer doesn’t work, and neither the online flyer nor the regional flyers (in Canada) advertise the ipod touch on sale. It’s listed as 239.99 the same price as Future Shop and Best Buy.

  35. Alex says:

Here is another example of Walmart using the legal system to drag out certification of a workplace for years with challenge after challenge (no matter what their legal costs). There is a high turnover rate of employee’s and later there are no original employee’s left.
Walmart gets the special union busting goons in from Bentonville USA and uses force meeting to intimidate the workers.
Walmart disrepects Canadian labour laws and Canada.

Sask. judge overturns Wal-Mart union certification

  36. Mary says:

I found it in the flyer, but it’s a Nano 8 gb for $159 in Ontario

  37. macfsh says:

I just realised this was originally posted July 17, 2008 not 2009. Confused me because I was reading it on July 17th.

  38. P33ny sidgu says:

i want an ipod touch and my friend had a bunch of apps and games on hers so i was wondering how many apps can you have on a 8gb touch?

  46. ponyboy says:

you can fit plenty of apps, depending on how much other stuff you put on. I have a 16 g touch with 120 apps, 400 pics, and 1770 songs and still have 870 mb left.

  47. your mom says:

An 8 gig 3rd gen itouch is excatly the same as a 2nd gen itouch, speed/ram wise. so if any of you are going to get one make sure you fork out the extra cash for the 32 gig or higher models
