I went on the AC website to check this out and it’s only good for Easter and Atlantic provinces (for Canada) and 3 US Cities. Not applicable for Western or Prairie Provinces. :o(
I know the fare itself is a good deal but I hate that the extra fees still double the final cost.
Westjet is having a seat sale as well, got a great price for a flight in western Canada.
Plan on going to NYC from Toronto with this deal. Considerably cheaper then Porter (even with their sale).
People hoping to take advantage of this deal should know that they’ll have to add an unexpected extra $25 (at least) when they get to the airport. As of September 1st, 2011, air Canada charges $25 to check in your FIRST bag when flying between Canada and the US, each way.
My advice is to wait for westjet to match this sale.
It looks like AC only charges economy customers for their baggage. Nice, the ones who can’t afford the extra charges. No way in hell will I be flying AC after seeing that. If you are going to charge, you charge EVERYONE equally. Even infants/children are charged $25 whether they have a seat or not (in economy).
