Home Alone 1 and 2 are Holiday staples in my house: it is essential viewing every holiday season. Home Alone 3 (complete with a new cast, new storyline, new director, etc) is god awful and has barely any holiday ‘spirit’ to it. I’ve never seen #4, but given that it was a straight to video relese, I can’t imagine it would be much better than #3
