Honestly, I buy all my cables from monoprice. They take a week or two to get to Canada but the quality is awesome. I got ripped off for $50 for a HDMI cable in Future Shop when I first got a flat panel TV and the quality was awful (couldn’t keep up with Blu-Ray data rate and kept getting a blank screen). Bought a longer cable from monoprice for <$10 inc. shipping and it was much much better.

It’s not a scam, have ordered before from re-sellers selling cables on Amazon.ca. No issues.
Cables are one of the biggest rip-offs out there. The prices are grossly inflated and companies like Monster do not produce a better product, even though stores such as Future Shop will try to upsell. Small, local computer stores are the way to go. I bought a six foot HDMI cable at Superstore for $25 then returned it when I found one for $3 elsewhere.
