Apple Canada Recall: Beats Pill XL Speakers Recall Due to Possible Fire Hazard

Apple Canada and Health Canada have issued a recall on the Beats Pill XL Speakers due to a possible fire hazard. The recalled products are plastic, capsule-shaped audio speakers with model number B0514. The speakers measure about 10cm tall by 33cm wide by 10cm deep and are black, white, pink, metallic sky or titanium in colour. The affected speakers have a ‘b’ Beats logo on the speaker grille side and the words ‘beats pill XL’  on the handle. There is a risk that the battery in this device can overheat, posing a fire risk to consumers. So far, Apple Canada has received reports of 2 incidents in Canada and 6 in the US. One consumer has reported injury due to the overheating. There have been approximately 11,000 affected units sold in Canada.

If you purchased this item between January 2014 and June 2015, please stop using it immediately and contact Apple for a refund!
