Apple Canada has recently announce the release of a new item to the iPad lineup, the iPad Pro. It’s due to hit stores this November and is already generating a lot of buzz! This supersized iPad boasts a 12.9 inch screen and the tablet itself is as thin as the iPad Air!
Features include:
- powered by a new A9x 64-bit chip – said to perform 1.9 times faster than it’s smaller counterpart
- iOS 9 software
- 4 speakers that are 3x louder than the iPad Air and automatically balance the audio on the left and right sides
- Weighs 1.53lbs (almost the same as the original iPad)
- 2,732×2,048-pixel resolution
- Touch ID sensor built into the home button
- 8-megapixel iSight camera
Probably the most interesting thing about this new iPad is that it supports a pressure-sensitive stylus, the Apple Pencil, made specifically for this model. It also has a few other high end accessories including a smart keyboard and smart cover, which are quite similar to the well known accessories for the Microsoft surface.
The iPad Pro will be available in silver, gold and space grey. There is no Canadian pricing the iPad Pro yet, but US pricing is as follows:
- $799USD for 32GB WiFi
- $949USD for 128GB WiFi
- $1079USD for 128GB WiFi + cellular
The Apple Pencil is also being listed as $99USD so far. Apple Canada has announced that the iPad Pro will be released this November, but no specific date has been provided.
