Best Buy Canada: Trade in 5 Games and get the Nintendo DSi XL for free

rsz_promo_en

Best Buy has a hot deal on March 28, 2010 only. Get the new Nintendo DSi XL for free when you trade in 5 games. There is a limit of 1 per customer and there’s a limit of 20 per store. There is definitely a qualifying list of what games they will accept for the trade in as well, games must have a minimum trade value of $9. I don’t have the list, but I am sure it’s available in the flyer. Please note this promo excludes Winnipeg, Nanaimo and select stores in Ontario.

    Whoa!!!! Nice deal.

I would definitely buy the new DSi XL….. but I HATE that it only comes in bronze and burgundy… clearly they are marketing these for older customers. Why not do black and white????

    • Justine says:

@ meguwo – I agree, the colours are blah ugly. I got my bf the original DSi for Christmas one year, he likes it. I can’t remember which store had this, I think it was EBGames, if you traded in your old one,you got a credit for the new one.

Would be great, except trying to find 5 games with a minimum trade value of $9 may be a bit tricky for some… You can get a rough idea by using http://www.tivs.ca and selecting “printable version” in order to see DS titles with values about $8 for bestbuy.

    • Justine says:

@ kent – It definitely would be tricky, but the new DSI is expensive and if you can swing this, and be able to get there before they are all gone, it’s a great deal!

  4. Dandylion says:

It doesn’t have to be DSi games. You can trade in Wii games, X-box 360, DSi, PS3

Read the fine print….some cities are excluded…and Winnipeg is one of them…kinda weird.!!!!

I looked over the list they provided and I think I’m actually going to go for this. Wondering if it’s going to be crazy at the store. :S

My husband headed out to see if their is a line up at our store!! Then we have to hope we have 5 games that qualify!!

My husband and I waited in line for this one this morning (Best Buy Hamilton). It was really well handled and very organized, our 5 games (4 Wii, 1 DS) were accepted and above the $9 trade in value and we got our DSi XL. We weren’t even changed tax on it, which surprised me. So thank you Smart Canucks for letting us know about this deal, it really turned out to be worth the effort!

Swwet sweet! We had two games that we owned double copies of (not enough save game options so we’d picked up more than one copy a couple of years ago) and we felt that we could part with one of each, then we had two games that we simply didn’t like. We had a few other qualifying games, but we were not willing to part with them. Still being short one game, we popped over to Rogers where they’re having a sale on DS games: 2 for $29. So we picked up two games; one for the trade and one for us. Both were selling for $34 pre-played (pre-sale). And we got the Bronze. w00t! Promo also came with a few coupons valid today only – one of which is $10 off any wii game, which we’ll make use of. 🙂 Honestly, this was an awesome deal even if we didn’t have any games we wanted to get rid of: at $15 a pop at Rogers, it would only cost $45 to buy the games to trade for a system that sells for $199.

  10. Princesstefer says:

Heeheehee, I meant “Sweet, Sweet”, we made use of the $10 off coupon and cost $65 to buy games to trade. And I’m sure there are other typos… but it’s hard to type when three kids are trying to get me to open a DSi XL case as fast as possible.

  11. Princesstefer says:

wow, $75… fingers number pad no work

  12. Maddie2008 says:

Its nice that it doesn’t have to only be DS titles to trade in. It says PS3, Wii, Xbox360 and DS. Too bad I did’t have time to get in on this deal though.

  13. Christa says:

I got mine!!! We headed to the store at 9:30 just to see and there was only 3 in line. When the store opened at 11 there still wasnt 20. I have to say their organization rocked.

  14. misty says:

As with all things, the starting stage is important. It’s like getting a highway and not understanding the direction by which you would like to travel should you do not have a beginning stage. For me, the starting stage is understanding which marketplace I’m aiming for.
