Bulk Barn Canada: $5 Gift Card with $15 purchase

Bulk Barn Canada

Thanks Arch_Dandy for posting this deal in the Canadian Shopping Deals and Flyers section. Here’s what Arch had to say:

Between February 7 and February 20, 2009 if you spend $15 or more before taxes at the Bulk Barn you get a $5 GC! This is a great store to stock up on baking goods, or even candies (valentines day is coming up ).

Speaking of Bulk Barn, I came across the above picture by velouria on flickr and it explains my exact thoughts towards Bulk Barn. How on earth do people identify the powders without any labels? When my parents shopped at Bulk Barn they’d have like 30 bags of similarly looking powders and my Mom could identify them easily without any labels .

all bulkbarns? where was the info found? instore? flyer? online? i’d seriously take advantage of this one even tho it’s a tad out of my way. there’s always “weird” stuff i can use. too expensive to purchase your everyday items unless your only using a small amt that it’s not worth paying for a large reg store item.

When it comes to the white powders, such as corn starch, baking powder and baking soda, there are little white tags that you can write on to tell them apart. Good thing too because I sometimes stock up and could find myself wondering what it was that I bought six weeks ago if it wasn’t for the tags!

This is a great deal. I will be definitely going!

Rox… I make good use of those tags also…

We all know what confusing your white powders can lead to… especially when your guy runs out of balloons and uses baggies instead. (Pulp Fiction anyone?) 😉

Seriously though, bluk barn deals like this are good. I usually buy my candy there before heading to the movie theatre and paying the outrageous prices at the concessions (shhhh!)

I did an interview with bulk barn, and they told me that they were constantly getting calls about how to identify powders by look/feel as well as from people who had the numerical code on the tag but not the what the product actually was.

I worked at Bulk Barn several years back & could identify pretty much everything (after about 3 months training, mind you) by combination sight, touch & weight/ density. People regularly come into the store with their previously bought bags asking what they purchased.

    Great deal 🙂

Boo, you just gotta be a woman to do that. It’s innate talent.

This info was on a flyer, along with a $3 coupon. I love those! I shop at the bulk barn often. It’s a great way to save money and the earth (less packaging). They are offering more organic items lately, too. I got a huge container of organic natural pb for only $5 the other day!

Does anyone know if you can purchase 15.00 gift cards to get the 5.00 deal? Or does it have to be product?

    Thanks!!!!
