I’m unaware if you can buy a Mastercard, get 5000 points, then use that Mastercard to buy another card and get 5000 MORE points, etc. etc. etc. – but if you can do that, this is a pretty good way to earn SDM points quickly!
I think there may also be some kind of fee for the Mastercard. $3-$6 per $50 card… but correct me if I’m wrong!
Just be aware that the $50 Prepaid Mastercards hava a $3.75 fee attached to them each time
Paying for a prepaid Mastercard with a prepaid Mastercard (repeatedly to get points) sounds a little iffy but… why not pay for it with a Shoppers Drug Mart giftcard? Although I prefer getting bonus points by buying something I need, I have to admit that getting 5000 points for $3.75 is tempting because it could get you $12.50 worth of free stuff at maximum redemption level. Hmmmm…
Okay so let me get this straight – I buy a SDM gift card and get the points from that – I use it to purchase a $50 Chapters gift card and get an extra 5000 points PLUS a $10 SDM gift card since I spend over $50 (according to next post)….?
Does that make sense? Can those two deals work out like that?
never mind I take that back – I just read on the other post that gift card’s aren’t applicable for the $10 gift card
Great photo for the posting! It’s pretty rare to geet points for buying gift cards. At first I thought it had to be a $50 gift card, but I’m pretty sure it’s %50 or more in gift cards!
Bought a SDM gift card… then later used it to buy the $50 gift card. Received the 5k bonus pts on the receipt immediately.
Good deal if you buy books from Chapters (even online for more savings) or if you go to the movies a couple times a year (also further movie savings – popcorn & drink, and kid coupons).
Also good for stocking stuffers – even though Christmas is 6 m away.
PS – there are no refunds on gift cards, my friend bought a Second Cup card by accident
So stan…. did you receive the 5000 points for the SDM card, as well as another 5000 points for the other gift card?
You DON’T get bonus points for SDM gift cards, only for the 4 specific gift cards listed above. However you do get regular points for a SDM gift card (500 for $50).
