As you have likely heard, July 2, 2016 is the official last day before the Canadian postal workers can stop working and enter into a lock-out or strike. So, if you have any last minute items that need to be mailed, you must do so by today, June 29, 2016! This is to ensure delivery by tomorrow, June 30, 2016. Today is the absolute last day to send anything and if you’re sending it anywhere other than locally, you will need to pay for the priority option.

  • Expedited Parcel (Local)
  • Xpresspost (Local)
  • Priority (National, Regional & Local)

Either way mail will stop or slow down, tomorrow may be the last day for mail delivery I suppose for a while unless something changes.

Our business has already changed to purolator and so have more than half of other tenants in this building. We are not going back. It is a misconception that Canada Post is cheaper, our deal from their rep is almost identical to the CP cost.

    • Taylor Smith says:

We have switched as well. As a small business, we will have to shut down if we cant mail products to clients. Purolator has matched the cost for the next 24 months. After that, we shall see. I know we are never going back to Canada post.

    • Nicole says:

FYI Purolator is owned by Canada Post. Are you sure your name is not Stephen Harper??

      • FallenPixels says:

It is owned by CPC but not impacted by the strike or lockout and many companies (mine included) have made the switch – although perhaps that is what the Corp wanted

  3. Annie says:

This is infuriating. Canada Post is an essential service.

There was an ad in Hamilton Mountain News last week that indicates that Cdns have until July 30 to provide input on postal services. This would be a good time to share with the government your thoughts on what postal services mean to you and what you expect will be provided.
I’ve noticed one dept. store has indicated which parcel service will be used to deliver orders in lieu of CP but it was mentioned that pick-up in-store is also possible.
