WOW! That’s crazy awesome – redeem less than half the pts for a hundred bucks! NICE. I’m all for it.

  4. rachael says:

    website too complicated!! NOT SATISFIED

  5. Rachel says:

Thanks! I’ve been asking the clerks @ my local SDM when this was going to happen, and they never seem to know what I’m talking about. Yay for having someone on the inside!

  6. talk2mun says:

How does this work? Do we get a voucher for the 200$ free stuff if i use my 75k free points or do i have to buy the stuff on the spot? Who needs 275$ worth of stuff from shoppers? I hope it’s a guft card or something…someone please say something those clerks don’t know anything and it would be nice to know in advance so I can check out what I need in advance!

  7. Sam says:

Was in SDM today and it was confirmed that this is on for BC as well!

  8. Shalamar says:

talk2mun, you have to have $200 worth of stuff (before taxes) – then, when you’re putting them on the counter at the cash desk, say “I’m redeeming 75,000 points for these.”

  9. Ann says:

Awesome, been waiting for this. Last time this was on we had a hard time finding $200 worth. Because I had so many coupons, I actually ended up with $275.00 worth for the $200 worth of points!

  10. Moom says:

I was in Shoppers yesterday and the cashier I had confirmed the event for me without any prompting from me. So, this would seem to be confirmed for Alberta as well.

  11. Cattiva says:

Can the purchases include gift cards? Thanks.

  12. Jessica says:

Same question as Cattiva’s, can I use the points to buy gift cards (other store’s)?

  13. Marissa says:

    From the shopper’s website:

Shoppers Optimum Points may not be redeemed towards the purchase of the following products/services: prescription drugs, products containing codeine, electronic gift cards, wireless phone cards, stamps, Post Office stamps and merchandise, passport photos, tickets provided by Ticket Ops or any other event ticket provider, Life Experience Gift Cards, cigarettes and tobacco (where sold), lottery tickets, bus tickets and passes, delivery charges (where applicable), bill payments (where accepted), bottle deposits/returns, charitable donations, gift with purchases and any other items specified as exclusions from time to time.

  14. Jenifer says:

Has anyone had any luck redeeming for SDM gift cards? I know regular GC aren’t allowed but I thought SDM ones were. Tried to redeem with no luck.
