I thought it was 2 PS3 OR two PSP games. I believe this is also just for people who had the service when it originally went down, etc. It’s still a wonderful gesture from Sony as, realistically, they didn’t have to provide anything since the basic service is already free and hackers gonna hack.
I don’t own a PS3, but I I would if they weren’t so expensive.
Eric, I got the email and all we did was register our Ps3 years ago, we’ve never used any of their services before, not “paid” for anything on the playstation network so as far as I can tell it IS for everyone.
Sally, I think what Eric means is that you need to have had a PSN account before the system went down (like you did, even though you haven’t used it). i.e. you can’t run out and buy a PS3 and sign up an account now and expect to get something for free.
Eric, it’s both a PS3 and a PSP game, I got mine last night.
Absolutely a pretty grand gesture. Personally I don’t use their store very much. The movie watching and game playing part of the PS3 wasn’t affected at all, so no big deal from my part.
One thing that wasn’t mentioned here is the identity theft protection coverage that Sony is also providing. In case people are concerned about the personal info that was taken by the hackers during the attack will be used to commit identity theft, they can sign up for the protection and Sony will foot the bill for a year.

This is a weak attempt by Sony to try and gain back some trust. The games they are offering are either bad or very out dated. I would be expecting much more based on the amount of time they were down and the problems they caused users. I cancelled all my accounts with them and only use my ps3 for watching movies now. It’s good for netflix, blue ray, dvd and memory sticks.
I have a PS3 that I’ve never registered and the site is closed to new members. A bit disappointing, but I agree that if you weren’t registered before the info leak, you really shouldn’t be entitled to something for free…
