It’s only green if large portion of people who are going to take these bags are going to reuse them for a considerable period. Otherwise, it’s even more wasteful than plastic bags because they require more materials and energy to produce.
Everyone is green all of a sudden. Canadian Tire, Walmart, etc. etc.
The only retailer that has been their all along has been Loblaws (Zehrs, Fortinos, RCSS). This company has had ‘green’ products since 1987. These other retailers don’t impress me when they are the last on the boat. They only go green when they can see the green (money).
