Canadian Freebies, Free Stuff

So I got an interesting email from The Body Shop this morning. On Friday, February 12- Saturday, February 13, 2010, if you shop at any Body Shop location, you can win your entire purchase! Apparently they are handing out limited vouchers and they include many different discounts and special offers, including:

Here is the fine print that was included at the bottom of the email: Special Offer Terms & Conditions: Coupons will be distributed in-store on February 12 -13, 2010 and are redeemable for in-store purchases only in the US, Canada & Mexico during such dates. EDIT: This is still on today (Saturday the 13th)!

If you are a Bay subscriber you are eligible for two awesome deals. The first is, when you buy one of the Clinique 3-step products (cleanser, clarifying lotion, moisturizer) you get the other two for free, please keep in mind the free ones are a 10-day supply (so not full size).
Next, if you spend $50 worth of Clinique products at The Bay, you can get 80,000 bonus HBC points, which is equivalent to a $10 gift card! This offer is valid Friday, February 12 – Sunday, February 14, 2010. This is a great offer for Clinique lovers. I am not sure if you can combine these two offers, ie buying one step of the 3-step and then the reminder on another product, and get both deals. I guess it’s worth a shot, probably can’t though.
Thanks to mtlmom for sharing this deal with us!

L’oreal Lash Boosting Serum is a fairly new product that promises to give “stronger, fuller and thicker looking lashes”. If you have heard of Latisse, which is available through prescription only, this is like a dumbed down version of that. I don’t think it will work miracles. I actually have been using this for a couple of weeks now, I saw it on sale and bought it right away cause I was all excited. I don’t think it’s doing much. The life span of an eyelash is 3 months, after which it typically falls out, and this serum basically tries to prevent it from falling out, giving you more lashes through that process.
Anyway, enough of my review there, try it for yourself! the first 500 people will be chosen to try out this new L’oreal product.

If you are a SCENE member, you can see the flick “The Hangover” for free on February 10, 2010 at 7pm. Just go to a participating Cineplex Entertainment theatre location with your SCENE card, present your SCENE card and get FREE tickets for you and a friend (max 2 tickets per member). Also, with your admission tickets, you will also receive FREE small popcorn, courtesy of Scotiabank. The first 100 members will also receive a FREE Scene bag full of goodies!
SCENE asked its members to vote on what their favourite movie to see would be last year, and “The Hangover” was the one chosen, that’s why it’s the movie that is being shown. This movie has been out of some time, but it’s really good and funny, I recommend it, plus it has the sexy Bradley Cooper in it, and who doesn’t love that? đ
For those in Quebec, SCENE members get a free viewing of “Star Trek” and two free popcorn instead. This event takes place on Wednesday, February 10 at 7PM as well. There is an error on the site and above the theatre listings it actually says “Star Trek” screening, but “Star Trek” is for Quebec only and everyone else gets “The Hangover”.

EDIT: Bumping this to the top because it is TODAY!

Powerbar is giving away a free sample of their Gel Blast Energy Chews. Â These look like they would be great to take along with you on a run or bike ride for an extra burst of energy. Â Unfortunately, this sample cannot be sent to Quebec. Â It says that the offer is valid from February 12 to March 12 but when I entered my email address today it said I could get a free sample, so they may have it running now.

This one is for all the animal lovers. Walmart and the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) have joined together for a great cause and are offering free wristbands to their supporters. The bracelet is cute and is a nice way to show that you care about animal rights.
Please read the short stories at the bottom of the page, it really shows how serious animal cruelty is and frankly brings tears to my eyes and makes me very angry that there are such horrible people out there. There is also information there on how to become as ASPCA member and donate.
