After a complain was lodged on April 11, 2017 by a concerned parent who noticed their child had developed a scratch from one of Costco’s most popular baby clothing lines, the wholesale giant has made the decision to pull the product from the floor.
Earlier in April a parent noticed that their child had been scratched by one of Pekkle’s baby sleepers and as result of the injury an internal investigation into the matter is underway at the Montreal line’s parent company, Lemur.
A Lemur spokesperson said that they take the matter very seriously and that as soon as they learned about the problem with the clothing line they took all of the possibly affected product off the market.
Health Canada is currently weighing whether or not further action will be required after the internal investigation, but they are reportedly working very closely with Lemur and Costco to ensure a speedy and transparent recovery from the problem.
Meanwhile, on social media, Canadians seem to be having a mixed bag of reactions to the incident with Pekkle sleepwear:

Breakfast in bed is usually a staple of most Mother’s Day celebrations, but what would be even more surprising for mom would be to wake up with a brand new pair of pjs so that she can enjoy her morning pancakes and orange juice in something handpicked for her by her kids. Hatley Canada would be the best place to do your Mother’s Day pyjama shopping as they are currently offering a Mother’s Day sale where you can save 25% off on sleepwear.

You can either grab an already matching set of pyjama bottoms and top, like this Tropical Drink set (only $45, reg $60), or mix and match your own selection of bottoms and t-shirt, like this Cat’s Pajamas t-shirt (only $18, was $24) and these Morning Coffee pyjama pants (now $27, was $36).

Taking care of your eyes during the spring and summer becomes increasingly important as the days get longer and the sun stays up shining well into the evening. Having a decent pair of sunglasses is an often overlooked tool for combatting the harmful effects of the sun, which is why this sale at Hudson’s Bay Canada immediately “caught my eye” so to speak.
Right now, you can grab designer sunglasses for 20% off their regular price when you use the promo code SUNNIES on all men’s regularly priced sunglasses (I tested the promo code on the already reduced sunglasses and it sadly did not work).

If you’re looking for a sporty pair of sunglasses, there’s these Under Armour Core 66mm Sunglasses, which will only cost you $116 after the promo code is applied (reg. $145). But if you’re requiring something a bit more stylish, then there’s these Polo Ralph Lauren Check 55mm Wayfarer Sunglasses, which will only be $160 after the discount (reg. $200).

Hudson’s Bay is also offering a sale that will appeal more to the ladies, as you can save up to 25% off on handbags and wallets. For instance, I was able to find this adorable Kipling Ravier Nylon Backpack on sale for just $130.50 (reg. $174) and this Nine West Reana Tote Bag for just $90 (reg. $120).
Hudson’s Bay offers FREE shipping on orders that are $45+ (or $29+ on beauty purchases) when you pay with your Hudson’s Bay credit card, or $99+ (or $49+ on beauty purchases) when you pay with any other form of tender.

Free Comic Book Day Canada 2017 is happening this Saturday, May 6th. On this special day, participating comic book shops give away a free comic book to everyone! Free Comic Book Day website has a store locator where you can put in your postal code and find your nearest participating comic book shop.
Free Comic Book Day is an annual event founded on the belief that for every person out there, there’s a comic book that they’ll love. Every first Saturday in May, the industry comes together to give away free comics and encourage fans, both old and new, to flock to the best place in the comic book community: local comic shops. These are the hubs of our community, where fans can come together and discover new comics, make lifelong friends, and find a sense of commonality.

Major publishers such as DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics, IDW Publishing, and Image Comics put out free comics for fans to enjoy at the more than 2,300 local comic shops participating in Free Comic Book Day. There’s truly a book for everyone: from superheroes, to popular film and television shows, to beloved video games, and all-ages stories. Popular series from past years have included Bob’s Burgers, Doctor Who, Assassin’s Creed, and SpongeBob.

Join the next global Jane’s Walk festival on May 5th, 6th and 7th, 2017. Jane’s Walk is a movement of free, citizen-led walking tours inspired by Jane Jacobs. The walks get people to tell stories about their communities, explore their cities, and connect with neighbours. Jane Jacobs (1916-2006) was an urbanist and activist whose writings championed a fresh, community-based approach to city building.
Jane’s Walks are free, locally organized walking tours, in which people get together to explore, talk about and celebrate their neighbourhoods. Where more traditional tours are a bit like walking lectures, a Jane’s Walk is more of a walking conversation. Leaders share their knowledge, but also encourage discussion and participation among the walkers.
A Jane’s Walk can focus on almost any aspect of a neighbourhood, and on almost any topic you can think of. Walks can be serious or funny, informative or exploratory; they can look at the history of a place, or at what’s happening there right now. Anyone can lead a walk — because everyone is an expert on the place where they live!
