Wow what a great deal!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

  2. sEcReT says:

“Coupon may not be photocopied or reproduced in any manner” …

  3. Christine from Canada says:

    What sEcReT just said +1.

  4. Nightgarden says:

where is the source of this coupon? from a website? or email?

  5. laura says:

Its not woking… Seems disappointing but, it doesnt work. I had been to cineplex, they smiled and refused !!!

  6. julyprincess says:

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the online coupon is for one time use only? According to the Energizer promotion (http://www.energizerfreemovie.ca/english/), you need to register with a pin# from specially marked energizer batteries and then you will get an online ticket to print for the theatre of your choice…is this totally different than what’s posted??

  7. Sally says:

I think this is one you actually have to buy the product to get the real coupon because there all unique codes.

  8. paracam says:

I am guessing that this coupon will not work. When the coupon is generated, it is after you have submitted the proof of purchase codes on the Energizer web site. Each coupon will have a different Bar code.

  9. MaRy says:

Damn how dissapointing! Good to know, thanks everyone! Not much out there for free anymore sigh!

  10. shirley says:

    Someone should remove this.

  11. Joe says:

Here is the link to the Energizer website that explains how you get the coupon:

    http://www.energizerfreemovie.ca/english/

There is a link to the rules on the site, but here is the important one:

HOW TO OBTAIN A FREE 2-FOR-1 ADULT MOVIE COUPON: Online only
Visit http://www.ENERGIZERFREEMOVIE.ca and fully complete the registration form, which requires you to enter Full name, Address, Email address, telephone number and the PIN code number (“PIN”) found inside specially-marked packages of Energizer MAX batteries (AA-4, AA-8, AA-10, AAA-2, AAA-4) and Energizer Advanced Alkaline batteries AA-4, AA-8, AAA-4 and AAA-8, while supplies last. Once complete, click “Submit” and choose your theatre. One online 2-for-1 Adult Movie Coupon (“Coupon”) will be available for download and use during the Offer Period.

  13. izikavazo says:

If that had worked, it would have been crazy. I would have printed hundreds of these coupons.

    • Justine says:

“I would have printed hundreds of these coupons”…

wow, no shame at all. 🙁

  14. blueegg says:

Maybe izikavazo meant; ‘if that had been legit . . .’ No reason to jump to conclusions.

  15. shannon says:

The offer was on the batteries that were on sale at no frills for $4.14 last week and a couple of weeks prior. I entered the pin from my package and was successful using this coupon at cineplex. It was a great deal…cheap batteries and a half price movie!

  16. TJ says:

That’s why I go to AMC Theatres before noon on Fri , Sat & Sun & holidays & pay only $ 6.00 for movies 🙂 …I find Cineplex / Famous Player’s to be too expensive 🙁

I understand going to AMC might not be an option for everyone as they might not have one close by or might not be free before noon on Fri , Sat , Sun & holidays .

  17. joe says:

i printed 3…went with 5 friends….all worked. great thanks guys

  18. entourage says:

When it’s too good to be true, it’s usually not true! You can get one of these coupons when you purchase specially marked packages of Energizer batteries. The coupon that someone scanned here will only work once and then the code is taken out of the system. So do a favour to everyone and take down the image, as you are just ending up disappointing people.

  19. Shocked says:

Wow, SC. Very shocked this one was posted……. 🙁

  20. Sally says:

^ Boo hasn’t been on again to see its not valid.

  21. Justine says:

ya he is busy doing a CBC interview apparently.

@blueegg – I think we all know what he meant… 😉 “if that had worked” meaning, if the coupon, and printing it as the blog post suggests, had worked he would of “printed hundreds of these coupons”.

In any case, people are free to do what they want, but I think it’s common sense to check where a coupon comes from and its uses and possibly misuses before advertising it on your website this way.

  22. parrson says:

Come on!!! Joes is just making ride of us…and the forum…

Its not possible to use this coupon. Image and credibility of smartcanucks gets spoiled by such post and false claims!!!

I went to cineplex, persented coupon and sales person says: system doesnot recognise the code. The team leader was called and she said: I got information from othe cineplex that used/fake coupons have come in market.

It was disturbing for me and my friend.

Whoever has posted this coupon, take it out, mann!!!

  23. FunkyMunky says:

why is Shocked shocked? lol oh em geeeeee, it’s not the first time a funny coupon gets posted by mistake 🙂
thanks anyway, this would have been AWESOME! 🙂

  24. Khristopher says:

Boo, do you even take the time to read fine print? As someone who runs this site, I would think you know better.

  25. Shocked says:

I second Khristopher. This seems to happen once in a while. And hey, humans make mistakes, but these ones can definetly be avoided… take the time to read and research. A LOT of people know and trust your website…

  26. Tarawshopper says:

You have to get the pin from energizer to get that original coupon sent to you.

  27. izikavazo says:

Whoa. The world of coupons is a rough place. Man, you post one thing wrong and the trolls are at your throat.
I think the only way they could have known this was a one-time use code would be if they tried it themselves. We can’t expect them to do that. So the insurance we have is the comments section. If it doesn’t work you’ll soon find out. It’s hardly their fault if you managed to print the coupon, run out and use it before 1:30… wait a minute!

    • Justine says:

@izikavazo – who you calling a troll? I am a longtime member on this forum and blog.

  28. amycanada77 says:

I got some batteries on sale 4packs for $3 a piece – totally worth saving an extra 10 bucks at the theatres – this is a good heads up to people buying batteries or just wanna save money at the movies and get free batteries – whichever way you look at it 🙂 leave Boo alone – like you all have never made an error in your lives – a bunch of perfect humans HA suuuure lol
    happy coupon hunting all
P.S. Sobeys in Kitchener had those M&M small packs on sale half off – I believe $1.50 now – buy 8 get TWO FREE movie passes – when you send them in with a self addressed stamped envelope 🙂

  29. Debbie says:

As the codes are entered, they are deleted as valid from the system. You have to buy energizer with special pin # and enter it via http://www.energizerfreemovie.ca/english/

  30. grace says:

No comments were posted yet when I printed out the coupon. Printed out 2 (since it will be 4 of us who would be watching the movie). Coupon did not work, but the manager was nice..did an override. But just for one coupon. So paid four tickets for the price of 3.

  31. Rick says:

So why is this fake coupon still showing? It is sad to see a site promote fraud with fake coupons and allowing others to post on how to misuse coupons. I guess this site has very little integrity

  32. Shopaholic says:

Ah that sucks, already printed the tickets yesterday.

  33. laurachev says:

There must be a way around it. In Canada you cannot have a “free with purchase” promotion without an option that allows you to get the same deal without buying something – ie. they must provide an address for you to mail requesting said information/deal, and the most you would have to do is answer a skill-testing math question, which is required by law.

  34. Shocked says:

If it’s a ONE TIME USE COUPON then take it OFF your website. Wow, wow, wow, WOW!!! It’s NOT hard to use the English language at the theater and say “hey, this coupon should work… please make it work!”… and voila, with a response of “oh, sorry, I guess our system is being silly… we will input the coupon this way… here’s your buy one, get one deal!” WHO SUFFERS? Energizer!!! You KNOW the manufactures give back the money used with coupons…. Energizer provides us with a GREAT promo… why are we ruining that??? Perhaps someone should contact Energizer and show them this post?! Oops happen, but once you realize it was an oops, FIX IT the BEST you can!!! Or no???

  35. Steve the Movie Lover says:

What gives with all the negativity from some of the posters here? No harm in making it known that this offer is out there, albeit with certain rules & limitations. Some have even had it accepted at their Cineplex. Move on trolls & Debbie/Donnie Downers!

  36. Shocked says:

The intent of THIS post was not to make the offer known. The offer was posted when it first came out… http://smartcanucks.ca/specially-marked-packages-of-energizer-batteries-bogo-movie-tickets-for-empire-and-cineplex-theatres-canada/ IF the intent was to make the offer known AGAIN (as it has been some time)… copy and paste the first post. Having the coupon accepted is FRAUD. Last time I checked that IS HARM.

  37. Steve the Movie Lover says:

Fraud??!! Interesting! Go To Jail! Do Not Pass Go!

This is providing me the humour that the Pizza Hut post gave me! 😉

  38. entourage says:

Great comments by everyone. The best and right course of action is to remove the ticket from the site. It is actually fraud to attempt to use the offer more than once.
To the person who’s ticket image is posted (and we know who you are!) you may want to ensure that it is taken off the site to prevent any further issue (you should read the rules and regs for this promotion).
To laurachev, the requirements you outline only apply to contests, this is not a contest.

  39. Shocked says:

It isn’t humorous to those that are being fraudulent…ed. This is not a game of Monopoly, or any game for that matter.

Fraud (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

“In the broadest sense, a fraud is an intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual.”

  40. Stark Bauer says:

If you send me 12 dollars (not including postage) I can give you a free movie ticket. 😉

  41. Tammy says:

Went to a Cineplex theatre last night with a legit coupon from batteries that we purchased the night before and the code did not come up when scanned. The supervisor said the theatre has received e-mails about people mass-printing and that they are not supposed to accept any that don’t scan. I explained that I knew that people were trying to abuse them but that I really did purchase two packs of batteries and entered the codes. After he talked to his manager, he overrode the system and gave us the discount. When I asked if it will happen the next time we use our other coupon, he said “it shouldn’t”. It was a little frustrating because I felt like he thought I was doing something wrong and trying to scam the theatre when I actually went out of my way to do this the right way. Makes me a bit nervous about buying more batteries to get more free movies before this promo ends in November if I have to make a case for myself every time.

  42. sophiegirl says:

    love those couponsand love movies

  43. Shocked says:

    Harm done. Enough said.

  44. Sally says:

Its weird when people use different names to post their opinions. Might as well be upfront.

Im not even sure if Boo came back and saw this.

  45. Buster says:

Ohh well, back to downloading movies again.

  46. Bud says:

Tried this last night, IT DID NOT WORK! Don’t bother.

  47. Boo Radley says:

Anyone who tried to scam Cineplex by using the coupon after finding out it’s a one time use coupon is a fraudulent idiot.

Anyone making a huge fuss out of this post needs to get a life.

  48. Agent 99 says:

Agreed. ‘Shocked’ if you feel so strongly, be strong enough to post under your name, or start your own blog!!

  49. CP Employee says:

Just putting this to rest–I work at cineplex, and we had an e-mail go around basically telling us this coupon is NOT valid and to only accept ones which have a unique barcode. When we scan it, it says the coupon is invalid. I tend to still get about 5-10 people a day bringing it in though.

  50. ugg boot uk says:

    Most helpful site and information

  51. JN.OU says:

    thankyou so much for sharing!!!

  52. FunkyMunky says:

just got around to read this whole thing – what can I say! Boo – pls do not mind obnoxious idiots that whine and cry about an occasional “invalid” coupon

to the rest – get a freaking life! I can’t believe people have time to sit around and whine and critisize a FREE run blog and website for something SO minor!

this is getting pretty ridiculous – the review section is full with, dare I say, e-tards, as well

  53. Sally says:

Dare I say you are correct fm.

  54. Clare says:

Thanks for the comments! Just got this coupon in the email from a friend, googled it and found this blog. Now I am off to find some cheap batteries 😉

  55. johnk says:

considering how overpriced movie tickets are nowadays, “fraud” is the best they can hope for! or as some people already correctly said: back to downloading.

seriously – whoever doesn’t offer affordable products despite huge earnings, i don’t give a shit about and encourage everybody to bring a****es like that down.

  56. rainy cloud says:

I just want to say I also work at a cineplex and still get about 20 per weekday and up to a hundred on weekends of these coupons but people are now whining “but I got it from my work” so …what????? just because you got it from your stupid idiot boss then it suddenly makes it legit??????? WAKE UP!!!!!!!!! It states right on the coupon “CAN NOT BE REPRODUCED OR PHOTOCOPIED” “SINGLE USE ONLY” apparently there is alot of people out there that don’t know how to read.

  57. Illa says:

Posted this movie coupon at work, Monday morning….
before searching the internet, to my amazement,
found this blog…… I disappointed many fellow
    colleagues.
    Job well done 🙂

  58. unknown says:

I work at a cineplex theatre, and the Energizer coupons were printed without our permission, and there are not accepted at any cineplex theatres.

  59. someday says:

Amazing its still going on as I just received it by email from family and sent it on without thinking of checking it out first.

  60. tunknown says:

    johnk..
not sure where you’re seeing movies, but they are less than 12 bucks at cineplex.. prices have actually gone down in the past couple years.

  61. GGGG says:

    yo i want a coupon

  62. pdaat says:

    The link isn’t working.

  63. Helpful info . Thanks . I will have to pass it along others.
