  2. cmartin21 says:

  3. Carlyn says:

I’d love a new pair of glasses! Thanks for letting us know.

  4. Adrian says:

Mine broke awhile ago so this is the perfect offer!

  5. Trixie27 says:

Is it only BC cities? I signed up and will wait and see if they come to Ontario. Great deal for those who are able to get it.

  6. chickendog says:

Heh, that looks like my dog. Now I totally want to put glasses on her and take pictures 🙂

  7. Eric says:

I’m assuming you still need to pay to have them examine you and give you a prescription. Or would they allow prescriptions from other places?

  8. Eric says:

Nevermind, just read to “Make sure your Rx and PD from your doctor are up to date”

  9. Jer says:

Poor fedex has to deliver them all

  10. cindy petterson says:

Wonderful deal, I have bought glasses for my 4 people in my family and they are great. Fedex charges are usually around $12.00. Grab them while you can!!

  11. Ryan says:

I tried clicking on the ‘terms and conditions’ for this offer on their site, but nothing popped up. In the past, this has been for new customers only. Does anyone know if this is still true? If I’ve ordered from them before, do I still qualify for a free pair?

    Thanks!

  12. frankiew says:

    Ryan,

It says in the note above that “Customers who have already received a free pair of glasses from a previous promotion are not eligible.” Not sure if your past order was for a free pair or not. Perhaps more info. will be available closer to the time?

  13. Patty G says:

Hello all, it’s Patty from Clearly Contacts. Glad to hear everyone is excited about our huge new giveaway! I see a couple of you have questions, so I’ll answer them here. You can join our Event on Facebook to stay up to date, and we’ll be checking that page regularly to answer all of your questions, so it’s a great place to ask/answer questions from other customers. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=316974901200&ref=mf

@Trixie27 – The first few cities are in BC, but we will be traveling all over the country with this giveaway. With 25,000 free pairs to give out, you can bet we’ll be in all of the major cities, plus some of smaller ones.

@Ryan – If you haven’t gotten a FREE pair from us before, you will still be eligible.

  14. Lila says:

My mom just recently bought a new pair from them and they are gorgeous and affordable (I was going to say cheap, but that would come across wrong, lol). She has a really strong prescription and needs progressives etc, and normally they are HUNDREDS of dollars. Here they quoted her minimum of $200 just for the lenses, frames were on top of that. So she ordered them from CC and they were about $40!!!! And they really were nice (the frames). Even if you don’t get a free pair, I’d even just go ahead and buy a pair. My eyes aren’t as bad so a pair for me is less than half of what she paid for hers. I used to get mine at Costco and thought THEY were cheap but NOT EVEN CLOSE. I’ve been buying mine online for a long time, at other online sites, but I don’t want to hijack this and turn it into a “eyeglasses online” thread. The only thing is you need your pupilar distance, and some eye docs are pricks (sorry) and won’t give it to you because they know you are buying online. My mom had a friend help her measure it (not sure if CC has instructions on their site but I’m sure you can google it). I asked a guy at Costco optical section if he could give me mine but I think he did only because I just had my eyes checked by the eye doc there just prior, and was holding my prescription when i walked out of the exam room. So if you need an eye exam maybe go there. So far everyone I know who went to their own eye doctor, no one got their pupilar distance as they normally do it WHEN you are buying glasses FROM THEM. anyway, good luck.

  15. rishukhosla says:

    not for Ontario?

  16. Jennie says:

    @ rishukhosla
its for any city you have to nominate it

  17. Archana says:

does this ever come to kingston?

  18. ellen says:

hope they will come in mississauga.

  19. Cookieface says:

That picture looks like my dog!

  20. Nancy says:

If we aren’t the first 500 to use the code, will we automatically be charged for the price of the glasses or do they warn us first that our code isn’t valid during the ordering process?

  21. Patty G says:

Hi Nancy, once the first 500 are gone, you’ll notice that the code no longer gives the discount for a free pair of glasses.

@ Archana and Ellen – If you’d like us to come to Kingston and Mississauga, sign up for your city and get others to nominate the city as well.

Don’t forget to join our Facebook Event! It’s a good place to find additional tips for ordering glasses online, get the latest announcements on cities that have been confirmed and ask questions about the giveaway! http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=316974901200&index=1

  22. Kate says:

Anyone in Vancouver get their code yet? It’s 4:00pm PST!

  23. Kate says:

Ok figured it out….the dates above are incorrect. Vancouver is actually the 15th NOT the 10th.

  24. Patty G says:

We’ve just announced the next set of cities!

    Mar 3 Nanaimo
    Mar 9 Prince George
    Mar 15 Okanagan

  25. miniv says:

Hey Patty, got a quick question for you. For the free glasses, are all the frames on clearlycontacts available? or just some? if so, are we able to know so that we can ‘prepare’ for it? Thanks!

  26. Natalie says:

Hi Petty, A quick question. I am actually in North Vancouver, but can I just put in Vancouver area, because it’s so close.

    Thanks!

  27. Edward says:

What’s the best frame that they have? I mean like the maker.

  28. Litesandsirens911 says:

Hey Patty, both my daughters signed up for this not realizing that maybe it’s one per email address and they both submitted our home email address…does it matter? They each have a different prescription and different girls. Thanks!

  29. Mi says:

I love choosing and picking things! Clearly Contacts has a wide selection of glasses. I use contacts but I guess now I could even have a fashionable looking pair of glasses on the side. lol

My city is added and I am excited for this opportunity.

  30. Radio says:

@Patty G, can you define Toronto Region, Would it include Mississauga, Brampton etc?

  31. Ino says:

Patty: Can we get a free pair of sunglasses without a prescription or is this giveaway for prescription glasses only? Thanks, Ino

  32. gudeitaimu says:

Just signed up and hopefully Edmonton will be added later:)

  33. starrynight8765 says:

    Awesome, St. John’s!!

  34. Patty G says:

Wow, guys, sorry I haven’t been back to answer all of your questions in a while! Please join our Facebook Event: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=316974901200&index=1

THE EVENT IS THE BEST PLACE TO ASK QUESTIONS AND GET QUICK REPLIES!

@ MiniV – Yes, you can choose from any pair of glasses from the site.

@ Natalie – You should be fine.

@ Radio – We define the Toronto Region as Toronto, Durham, Halton, Peel and York.

@ Ino – The promo is for glasses only. However, if you would like to get a pair of Rx sunglasses, you can add a tint to any of our glasses and just pay for the cost of the tint.

@ Litesandsirens911 – The promo is one free pair per household, so only one of the pairs your daughters order will be eligible. You can still get two pairs, but you will have to pay for one of them.

  35. rishukhosla says:

Jenny, Thanks for letting me know.

  36. Deesha says:

Patty: does Scarborough count as Toronto Region since it’s so close?

  37. Patty G says:

Hi Deesha – We define the Toronto Region as Toronto, Durham, Halton, Peel and York. We will do Scarborough as a seperate city. You can sign up and request your city to be added to our list at http://freeglasses.clearlycontacts.ca/

Get your friends and family to sign up and request the same city. The more signups we get, the faster we’ll be there!

  38. Ryan says:

    Hi Patty —

Thanks for answering all our questions!

Here’s one more for you — At what time do the free pairs become available on the website? How long does it usually take for the 500 to be gone?

    Thanks!

  39. Margaret says:

Got my code & ordered my free glasses this morning. Okay, it’s not entirely free but it’s still a fantastic deal. I’m very happy 🙂

  40. Patty G says:

Hi Ryan, we normally send out the code between 8-9AM PT. This may change as we hit cities further East, but we’ll have that information later on. The 500 free pairs tend to go fairly quickly, anywhere between an hour to 4 hours or so. It’s a good idea to be near your computer and check your email often so that you don’t miss out.

  41. FunkyMunky says:

Patty – I do not have a physical eye glasses prescription. Can my current pair of glasses be used to get the presription? Right now I would have to pay my doctor for a brand new prescription I technically do not need…

  42. Patty G says:

@ FunkyMunky – You will need to get a copy of your current eyeglasses prescription. You should be able to request a copy of it from your eye doctor.

  43. Radio says:

@ Patty G, would this offer who need stronger lens. My friend has bad vision, around -7.25. Would he need to pay the extra cost for the lens or is this offer for any prescription lens?

  44. Clearly a Fan says:

Will this promo be offered in Montreal anytime soon?

  45. Tim says:

If a relative used my address to claim their glasses previously, does that mean my address won’t be eligible?

  46. Jennie says:

I was wondering the same as Clearly a Fan, will this be offered in Montreal soon??

  47. Linda says:

    Attention Patty:
I went to costco and had the eye exam and the eye doctor would not give me the PD nor would they eye glass place at Costco. Went to a place in the mall and he did it but gave the numbers seperately as R 32.01 and L 31.5
Now I am wondering do I add the numbers together as there is no place on the site to put them in as such. And is this free offer good for progressive lenses? Thanks!

  48. Tessa says:

Linda, You should be able to add those two numbers to obtain your PD measurement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o18-PIaIro4 is Clearly Contacts youtube video on how to measure it yourself though if you would like to check.

The free offer is good on basic lenses- you can choose progressives and pay the difference.

  49. jgh83 says:

Yay! I ordered my “free” glasses today:)

  50. Patty G says:

Hello all – As always, I encourage everyone to join our Facebook Event at http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=316974901200 to ask questions as that is the fastest way to get a response.

@ Radio – The offer includes standard lenses. For your friend, they would have to upgrade to thinner lenses and just pay the difference.

@ Clearly a Fan and Jennie – We will certainly hit Montreal with our promo, but there is no date announced just yet. You should sign up and request your city, and get your friends and family to do the same. The more requests we get, the faster we’ll hit your city!

@ Tim – Unfortunately, your address will no longer be eligible if a free pair has already been shipped there.

  51. Litesandsirens911 says:

wow, I got an email back in February after I registered telling me I got in , or rather, I made the list…I waited ALL DAY today, checking my email constantly every 10 minutes, and never did I see a code emailed to me…I am very disappointed, I thought if I made the list, I would get a code…and no, I have never ordered before personally…no, I do not have any email filters, and yes, I was checking my email all day…that’s too bad, I really needed the glasses for my daughter right now.

  52. Litesandsirens911 says:

okay well I guess I am wrong..because Smartcanucks has the Nanaimo date listed as March 3rd, yet Facebook says March 8th…so hopefully I am not too late.

  53. Jenny says:

  72. Stephania says:

What an absolute WASTE OF TIME! This is such a scam. Since my bf has his prescription up-to-date, I tried to get him a pair…only to find out that it’s only applicable for people who have prescriptions between +/-2.00! His is just over that.

Anything out of that range and the freebie doesn’t apply. This would be fine if the conditions were stated, but I read no such thing.

We were only for more than an hour, picking out frames, to discover this! NEVER AGAIN.

  73. Patty says:

    Hi Stephania,
The 1.5 lenses that are included in the free offer are available up to a -8.00, so your boyfriend’s lenses certainly would have been eligible. We do recommend upgrading to thinner, lighter lenses above -2.00, but it’s not necessary.

    Here are the offer details:
Offer includes frame, standard 1.5 index lenses, A/R coating, UV coating and Scratch Resistant coating. One free pair per household. Shipping & handling applies. Customers who have already received a free pair of glasses from a previous promotion are not eligible. Certain frames are excluded from offer.

*Upgrades to thinner lenses for higher Rx’s or tints to make Rx sunglasses can be added at an additional cost.
*People who require progressive lenses or who have an Rx above -8.00 can get a free pair of frames, and these lenses can be purchased at an additional cost. Anti-reflective, UV and scratch resistant coating are included.

  74. Rob Gushue says:

I applied for the free glasses, and just got them yesterday. It only cost me S&H, which came to about $16.00 to get them shipped from B.C. to PEI. Nice glasses, used my eye doctor’s last exam to order the lenses and everything.

This is the first time I’ve placed an order for something free, that I actually got in the mail, and with the glasses, I also got a tuning tool, bag to carry the glasses, hard shell case, and wiping cloth. Not bad for $16, as the eye doctor said I’d pay close to $300 for the same glasses at the stores….

  75. Jummy says:

I would like to know if those people with a prescription greater than -8.00 get some sort of rebate toward their purchase if they take advantage of this deal.

    Thanks!

  76. Al says:

This promotion is a scam. Once you’ve selected your order you input the code for the free glasses and it tells you it has expired even though in my case it shouldn’t until tomorrow. Anyhow, even though you did not confirm you wanted it without the free promotion they mail it to you anyway and expected you to pay their bill. I’m going to refuse it when it arrives as I was just checking whether the deal was still available.

  77. Sally says:

It’s not a scam.. once the selected numbers of pairs are gone their gone. My friend, me and my mom have all gotten free glasses, unfortuately its so popular it doesnt last till the next day, maybe an hour or two max.

  78. Aliya says:

    How about Hamilton, Ontario
