Can’t get through. Every time I add a password, it says it’s taken. No way. Maybe it’s not unique enough. Any suggestions?

  7. MissScrooge says:

^ That’s odd. It said your password wasn’t unique enough? or your username? Try throwing in a bunch of numbers in addition to whatever name you selected. Eg: Joanne2008 instead of Joanne. You could try using something you can remember, like your birth year, or your children’s, your age, address # etc. Or combine words: Pomegranate + apple = pomegrapple 🙂

  8. Joanne says:

Thanks Miss Scrooge for the tips. It must have been user name. I used your suggestion and I got in. Thanks

I am a member of TOPS, in Powassan–a weight loss support group. We are all there because we are trying to make healthy lifestyle changes and this group gives us the support that we need during this challenge. As the person responsible for programs, I have instituted a new walking program and felt that pedometers for our 30 members would help us to increase our daily walking. Having a pedometer, we would be able to take the steps that we take in a day and calculate the number of kilometers based on the number of steps. This tool would be a welcomed addition and would definitely increase enthusiasm for the new program, which will ultimately better each of our lives, along our way to a healthy lifestyle. Please help us with this pedometer request–if you could let me know if we can count on the free pedometers, it would be appreciated. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

    To whom it may concern:

The Cancer Prevention Department here at the Odette Cancer Centre is currently in the process of developing a “Workplace Physical Activity Program”. This program will provide employees of the Odette Cancer Centre with the tools and knowledge to increase their daily physical activity. One major predictor for an adult’s health status is directly influenced by their work environment. The Public Health Agency of Canada suggests that adults perform at least 30-60 minutes of moderate physical activity most days of the week. However, as we progress into an era where daily job requirements are becoming much more computer oriented, our work environments have become considerably more sedentary. For many individuals who work full time, the opportunity to be physically active outside of work also drastically decreases. As a result, the combination of both factors creates a situation where an individual can easily become increasingly inactive to the extent that their health status can severely diminish over time. In order to reveres these trends, initiatives must be taken to include daily physical activity into an average workday.

To help increase daily physical activity, my goal is to implement a pedometer program where employees will be encouraged to reach 10,000 steps each day. In cooperation with this strategy, new and existing physical activity programs, such as the Nordic Pole Walking program, will be promoted so employees can participate in group recreational activities. The health and well being of all individuals in the workplace should be of considerable interest for both the employers and employees. Benefits for employers include; decreased absenteeism due to illness, lower insurance/health benefits costs, increased energy and productivity. Employee benefits include; maintaining healthy body weight, increase energy, decreases risk of injury or illnesses and creates an overall happier work environment.

To make this goal a reality, we are requesting financial support in order to supply the employees with their own pedometers or please donate the item.

Thank you very much for your consideration and support.

    Best Regards,

    Marco Tschan
