Dairyland Milk $2.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart

Milk $2.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart

Usually Dairyland 4L milk is sold for $3.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart so $2.99 is a good deal. However, I personally find Dairyland milk goes bad much faster than Neilson and Parmalat but maybe it’s pure bad luck.

A couple of things you may wish to investigate if your Dairyland milk is going bad early, is first, where does the milk come from? Is it from out of province which sometimes happens. How many days left on the best before tag compared to other brands at other retailers.
Also what temperature is the counter running at? One advantage of larger store formats is that they have their counters monitered by alarm companies if they are running to high in temperature. The larger retailers also have strong relationships with refrigeration mechanic service providers also since there are so many counters in their stores. Smaller pharmacy stores may let things like this slip easier.
Of course you have to look at your own fridge and habits also. Is your temperature right? Are you leaving the container out too long.

    Hope this helps.

    Merry Christmas.

I went to the Shoppers at the mall near my house and they are selling it at regular price. I was told only the newer, larger stores were selling it for $2.99.

i am breastfeeding mom,i think i don’t have enougth milk to feed my new born baby, can somebody will advice me how i can supply more milk for my baby?what i have to drink for that ?thanks

Hi Gul, drink lots of water and juices, too much milk may irritate the baby’s tummy. Hard to measure how much your baby is getting, but as long as he/she is producing wet diapers, they are getting enough. The more you breastfeed, the more milk you produce. Don’t give up, keep trying, it gets easier!

    gul,

go to an herbal store and get fenugreek. worked for me. they say eating oatmeal works too but who knows about that one…

    gul,

I also recommend that you see your nurse pracitioner, doctor or local clinic to ensure that your baby is indeed gaining weight and doing well. They will also have a million tips on how to increase and maintain milk production. A google search will also give you tips. You could also look up La Leche League in your local phone book; they are a breastfeeding support group.

Lastly, NURSE NURSE NURSE! The more you breastfeed, the more milk you will make. Don’t feed on a schedule, let your baby latch on whenever she wants day or night (within reason) and before long, she will be happy and plump and you will have enough milk to feed a ward of babies.

    Good luck.

You gave her the best advice.. I nursed all 4 of mine. My sister-in-law nursed all of her 13 children, as did my daughter-in-laws mother who gave birth to 10 children. Nurse nurse and nurse some more, it is the best and the healthiest for both Mom and baby. Good Luck to both mommy and Baby. Sorry I put this hear I just wanted to send a shout out to Gul and didn’t know where to put this.

Where do you sell Dairyland milk in Ottawa?
Shoppers Drug Mart does not carry it anymore…

I was in Shoppers on the weekend and noticed they only had Neilsons milk. The cashier told me they had received a memo that Dairyland had been sold to another company, and they would only be getting Neilsons from now on.

Just bougth the special priced milk yesterday, after drinking it my wife has had diarrhea all day. Something does not make sense, bad milk may be the reason for special price?

Dairyland has not been sold. Saputo owns both Neilson and Dairyland brands, same a Baxter in the Maritimes. It was a decision to not carry the Dairyland name in Ontario as Neilson is a stronger brand in that Province compared to the Western Provinces.
If your family has a reaction it may be from the stores storage capacity as someone noted above – when did it make it to the refrigerated shelves? Regardless, Saputo has a consumer relations toll free you can call and speak to someone about any questions or concerns. If you are raising a complaint, you should have the store and address you purcashed from as I did and they were very helpful.
