Delia Alberta Selling Lots of Land for Just $10

Are you thinking of becoming a property owner, but think that the prices are just too high? Right now a small town in Alberta is offering residential lots with an asking price almost anyone can afford: $10 or best offer!

Delia, Alberta, a tiny town with the population of only 186 is desperate to stop its declining population with this enticing offer. So to encourage people to move to Delia, build houses, pay property taxes and help populate it’s little school, it’s selling off lots of property in a subdivision that would normally cost tens of thousands of dollars for next to nothing.

Delia is quite small, but they still boast basics such as a library, an ice rink, credit unions and restaurants. Mayor Dawn Bancroft says that there are benefits to living in such a small town. “Parents don’t have to worry about kids,” she said. “They can ride their bikes anywhere.” She also says, “It’s a little bit slower paced and you can just sit back and relax,” while adding, “The quality of life is good.” It’s also good to note that Delia isn’t as isolated as some other towns its size. Drumheller (pop. 8,000) is 30 minutes away by car, and much bigger Calgary is about 2 hours away by car.

Would you consider buying one of these $10 lots and moving out to Delia?

I am quite sure if you purchase the land for $10.00 you probably would be require to build on it as well. I wonder if that would be one of the stipulations?

I’ve heard that you have to build on it within a year, but not sure it’s that’s official.

Just wanted to add that my brother and his family lived there for several years, and absolutely loved it; they said it was a great place to raise their two kids.

You need to need to build a house and the land is only ten dollars but not really for me! Vanocouver is great with activities but so fricking expensive, next to where me and my parents used to live (Hong Kong) Yikes! That’s the most expensive price ever!

With land deals like this you’re often required to build a home within a certain time period, so you need to budget for what that would cost.

Yes, you need to have a liveable house on the property within one year of purchase.
