On August 5, 2015, Health Canada recalled various themed gadget pencil cases sold by the Disney Store. The following Disney gadget pencil cased have been recalled:
- Avengers
- Multi Princess
- Miles from Tomorrowland
- Cars
The pencil cases are made with spring loaded compartments that were designed for scissors, tape, rulers and erasers. The Disney Store themed gadget pencil cases have been recalled due to the structure of the product. The lid is held close by two magnets that can become loose and pose a threat to young children. So far there have been no reported incidents, but Health Canada is taking precautions before anybody gets hurt.
Recall cases were sold between June 3, 2015-June 12, 2015 and approximately 13 units were sold in Canada.
