Well this is silly. Of course it doesnt look like the ad. Back in the 80’s advertisers used to use plastic to advertise their food and when the customer went to the store the product did not look like the ad at all. I do not agree with using plastic models to advertise, but at the same time if they use a nice looking piece of food to make it look appetizing so be it. North america is so caught up in getting perfection in everything, including food; that this is how we ended up with engineered foods. And then consumers go and complain about the side effects of food.
Advertising and marketing makes for a more educated consumer, but there are some things that should be left alone to be beautifully imperfect.
And why are you eating that junk anyway?
I agree with liz. Plus, you are asking for FAST food, not perfection! If you wanted to eat art, you could go to a fancy french resturant and pay 50$ for some carrots a 1 oz piece of steak and some sauce drizzled on a plate in an estheticly pleasing way.
While I realize that the food we get as fast food restaurants will not look like the ads it should look edible. Having worked in the fast food industry my rule was if I wouldn’t eat it I’m not serving it to my customers. It was amazing to me how many people would slap the food together and then serve it to customers all the while turing up their nose at it cause it looked awful. I have made co-workers start over on items or threw out theirs and made another one for the customer. The food should look edible if not bring it back and make them give you another one.
My worse experience is with Quiznos in Canada. US is different. I was working on a post on this. Haven’t got time to finish that up yet: Quiznos – the ad is way too exaggarated!
I agree with the above poster- was very disappointed with Quiznos.
its not the fact that the food looks more put together in the ad its the fact that the ad food is stuffed with ingredients like the sub but when you go to the restaurant you are disappointed cause you get a flat sub with barely anything on it or a burger that looks like a pancake lol at least that is what my experiences have been like i dont need food to look good to eat it but it has to taste good
The site is neat…says to check back for updates.. I wonder how often it is updated?
Whoa, this can be quite fun to be able to read. Have you ever regarded as publishing articles to mags?
