Father’s Day Gifts That Won’t Break The Bank

With father’s day right around the corner, I’m sure there are many of you still wondering what to get that great father of yours. Am I right? Here are some ideas that won’t leave you scrambling for money under the cushions.

1. Photo Frame – All parents love and appreciate photos of their children. So why not take a very special photo of your father and yourself and put it in a nice, but inexpensive frame? This kind of gift will never go out of style!

2. Gift Basket – All those freebies and cheap items you’ve been getting from couponing are taking up too much space in your home, so why not give your dad a basket filled with things he can use. You don’t really need 30 razors do you? Give dad a few! Shaving cream, shampoo, soaps, toothpaste and much more can go in these baskets and since you paid next do nothing for these items, this is a very frugal gift idea!

3. Homemade Meal – Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even dessert – you can make a fantastic meal for your dad this Father’s Day at a relatively inexpensive price. Shop around for prices or even better – use up the stuff in your pantry! Dad will appreciate the time you spent making him this special meal.

4. Car Wash – Why not clean dad’s car? You won’t have to pay for a thing except maybe a car air-freshener. Clean the interior, vaccuum every crevice and give the exterior a good wash and there you go – something that will make dad very happy and not cost you anything!

5. Scrapbook – This one might take a bit of time to get done, but it is a great idea for anyone! You can get a book for around $5.00 at Wal-Mart – look in their clearance section, and you can get all sorts of scrapbooking materials at the dollar store. Plus, making scrapbooks is fun!

6. Handmade Bookmarks – Does your dad like to read? Why not make him some bookmarks? Use some thick paper (like cardstock) and write a little poem or letter and then decorate with stamps or stickers. This is a great idea for kids, but adults can do it too!

Some of those ideas my son has come home with from school. hehe, we usually take my dad out for brunch or pick him up something for outside.

But from Troys school hes brought us the photoframe, coupons for chores, scrap books and other various little things.

    There very heartwarming 🙂

Also stuff like cutting the grass for dad, letting him sleep in, are just as special 😉

My dad is difficult to buy for (like many dads), but he loves gardening and is very practical, so last year I bought him a tree. He loved it. Not expensive to do either (at your local nursery) and an ‘eco/green’ gift too! And it is a gift that, literally, keeps on growing. ( :
