Fjord Laks is recalling its fish products due to a potential growth of the Clostridium Botulinum bacteria. This is a potential factor because the bacteria grows on the fish only if it’s sold refrigerated. Some of the items recalled include the Irish Smoked Salmon, Royal Smoked Empereur Gravlax Marinated Smoked Salmon, Smoked Rainbow Trout and the Scottish Smoked Salmon.
There have been no reported illnesses reported from customers after consuming these products, but if you have any of the products above, you’re advised to throw it out immediately and call your doctor if you’re feeling sick. The Clostridium botulinum bacteria may not cause the fish to smell off but it can cause symptoms including nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, blurred or double vision, dry mouth, respiratory failure and paralysis.
