Signing up for such promotions is what I assumed would be an obvious ploy on the part of companies to harvest information through Facebook. I don’t know if people realize just what they’re sacrificing for a few chocolates. If your privacy matters to you, don’t give in to the temptation of allowing others to access private information for a frivolous freebie.

The were out within hours. But they will be out in stores in January. (Yes i got one ). The company was surprised how fast they went because it was suppse to go till december 31st
with a site like this, and several similar, I don’t expect these freebees to last too long.
You order one for yourself, one for your wife/sister/mother/brother/father/ etc… and next thing you know, they are all g.o.n.e
this sucks – as I do not want to have anything to do with
facebook – but I sure would like the “Free” chocolate !
For all those people who say they won’t use facebook, I didn’t need to log in to get the freebie. It takes you to a facebook page but I just clicked on the promo on the page and it let me get the chocolate without accessing facebook.

grrr my favorite chocolate and they are gone 🙁 But not suprised, Hey many people do not give up an opportunity for free stuff in this day and age. Also 5000 is not much considering the ammount of people residing in Canada & US alone. Too bad they didn’t release more.
Actually Sally, while I opt for freebies where I have control over the information I choose to disclose, websites such as Facebook have frequently been criticized for providing outside agencies with personal information without members’ consent. While this may seem like innocent trolling of pertinent information for advertisers, I choose to err on the side of caution and not allow a third party to dictate what is done with my personal information. When sites ask for phone number, age, sex, and the like, I assume many people wisely choose to falsify this data. My motive is to get products and services – perhaps to offer these companies my business in the future. Theirs is to offer me something in the hopes that I will be a future customer. And this site’s motive – I assume – is to bring these two together, using advertising to profit from the process. I don’t think I can be blamed for being a cynical consumer given the number of ads I see on this page alone. (Six, not counting those that are being promoted as deals by the site.)
But I would like to thank you for your smug condescension while my comment awaits moderation. Funny.
