why buy this and dishing out 350$ for a 10MP that offers NO video capabilities when you can get the Fujifilm FinePix S2500HD which is a 12MP and includes 720p video definition for 230$ at Costco?!?!
I mean yeah, it’s for photo purists, but at the same time mr and mrs everybody now want to be able to carry only one item that can do both for either family outings or vacations.
Sony again makes you pay for the brand name and not the functionality of the product itself..
I’d pay 150 to 200$ for a camera that doesn’t do video, but for a 10MP I wouldn’t pay more than 150$.. Quality pics between this one and other 10mp cameras out there isn’t enough to make me pay that much..

This is a great deal for a DSLR camera!! I owned a Sony Alpha a200 and I loved it! I’d recommend this for anyone just starting out in dSLR photography as Sony entry level models are very user-friendly and they take great pics too!
I agree about this being a great deal for a DSLR! Had I not just bought a new camera last month, I would seriously consider making this purchase.

Freefinger, this is a digital SLR…the Fuji is an imitator. To justify the purchase over my perfectly good 10MP Canon point and shoot, I showed my wife my FIRST photo snapped and she was a believer. You literally cannot compare the best top of the line P&S to the lowest DSLR camera. Period!
I am a beginner and this camera is so easy to operate. They built the feature set identical to what most P&Ser’s are used to so this is a great transition camera for those of us not willing to pay $1000+ for the higher end Nikon and Canon class SLRs.
My only regret is not going to an SLR sooner. Price was the issue but with this sale it knocked it down to the P&S camera range and this was the best deal I will be raving about for years to come!

Went with the Canon Rebel XS for $300 after Staples coupons a couple months ago. Glad that dSLRs are coming down in price though.
