Microsoft, in a desperate attempt to get people to use their products and particularly the Surface has a new interesting promo. Trade in your iPad 2, 3 or 4 and get a minimum of $200 Microsoft Canada Store gift card. Use the $200 gift card towards the purchase of a Surface (although I personally think that’s a bad idea) or other products at the Microsoft store (XBox One anyone?). You can probably get more than $200 for your old iPad by selling it on Kijiji or Craigslist but this hassle-free idea might be worth the peace of mind, especially if you were planning on buying a Microsoft product anyway.
How to redeem this offer:
- Bring in your gently used iPad 2, 3, or 4 and get a minimum of a $200 gift card to the Microsoft store.
- Use towards the purchase of a Surface or other products at the Microsoft Canada store.
This Microsoft Canada offer is valid from September 5, 2013 until October 27, 2013 and YES it is valid in Canada according to the promo’s fine print: “Available in select Microsoft retail stores in US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada; Not valid online.”
To the best of my knowledge there are two Microsoft stores in Canada both located in Toronto: One at the Eaton Centre and one at Yorkdale Mall. There might be more Microsoft stores in Canada but some Googling returned no other locations.

Have you ever tried the “Find a Store” tab on their website? They have 5 current Canadian locations (BC, AB, ON) with a 6th to open soon.
I would never trade in my iPad for Microsoft crap. I hate Windows 8 with a Passion. Wish I could afford a Mac.
