The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has recently issued a recall of GoGo squeeZ Brand Apple Grape and Apple Pear Pouch products due to the presence of mold. Made by Materne Canada, the company is also voluntarily recalling the product, and has issued an apology on their website.

The recalled products include:

• GoGo squeeZ Brand Apple Grape 360 g (4 x 90g)- Best Before Dates between June 30, 2016 and July 26, 2016 inclusive (UPC 8 48860 00163 4)
• GoGo squeeZ Brand Apple Pear 360 g (4 x 90g)-Best Before Dates between June 30, 2016 and July 26, 2016 inclusive (UPC 8 48860 00166 5)

The products in question have been sold in stores nationwide. If you have one of the products in question in your home, you are advised to throw them out, or return them to the store in which they were purchased.

While the mold found is microbiological and non-harmful, it still indicated spoilage of the product. Consumption of spoiled food may cause symptoms such as an upset stomach, vomiting or diarrhea. If  a baby or child has consumed this product, you’re advised to discontinue use and monitor them for symptoms.
