Grace Baby Canada Recall: Harness Restraints on My Ride 65 Convertible Car Seats Recalled

Graco Canada released a Safety Advisory in Canada today stating that some of the My Ride convertible car seats manufactured in the summer of 2014 and sold in Canada afterwards are being recalled due to not meeting some of Transport Canada’s standards.

The release comes after a test that showed that the car seat’s restraints did not perform to industry standards during a simulated car crash scenario. The specific requirement that the restraints did not meet was their breaking strength was not in accordance with Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) No. 213.

If you purchased one of these car seats, Graco is going to be providing free replacement kits with new harness restraints and instructions on how to install these restraints. The site says that you can continue using your Graco My Ride car seat in the time being before receiving your new installation kit.

To find out if your My Ride convertible car seat is part of the recall, you can go to this link and check to see if your model number, date of manufacture and webbing tag code match the affected car seats.
