Thank you to courtreporter for posting this deal in the forum!
Just a heads up for those interested in this promo, that for $2 less you can choose the gift card design you want and claim the exact same goodies with this offer:
http://smartcanucks.ca/cinplex-canada-holiday-special-gift-card/
dont forget the most important offer…
four Cineplex admit one certificates
can you buy this through the cashback system and gt 3.3% back?
mememe, I think you could. You’ll need to check with Sally to find out for sure 🙂
On the page (with the link) where does it say that you get 4 admissions?
Only annoying thing this year is that there is mandatory home delivery ($6+) charge. 🙁
marla, right at the top it says:
Cineplex Entertainment 2008 Holiday Gift Pack
The Cineplex gift pack is a holiday classic. It includes four Cineplex admit one certificates, free refreshments, and more!
The mandatory home delivery does not make this such a great deal. That’s annoying. Why can’t they have store pick up like they did last year. 🙁
MissScrooge – the link you posted to the $30 gift card doesn’t include anything about four admit one movie passes. Or am I mis-reading it? Anyone? http://smartcanucks.ca/cinplex-canada-holiday-special-gift-card/
If you use the code “bfreeship” you will get free shipping on orders over $100 until November 30 on the hbc website
My understanding is that the cineplex offer is for a gift card of $30 not 4 admissions. The HBC deal is for 4 admissions. I think the HBC deal is better depending on how much it costs to see a movie in your area. I live in an area where it costs $12 to see a movie, so it would cost $48 to see 4 movies. So even with tax (which is added on the HBC package) and delivery it is cheaper to go with the HBC deal ($42.66). In order to see 4 movies with a $30 giftcard, it would have to cost $7.50 per admission (are there still cheap Tuesdays anywhere?)
The more hbc packages you buy the cheaper it gets because the shipping gets spread over more tickets. If you buy 4 packages shipping is free and it costs $9.04 per ticket
^ That was my understanding too monkeemoo. For me, the Cineplex one would be the better choice since the theatre I go to is no more than $6.25 on a regular weekday, and $4.20 on Tuesdays. 7 tickets vs 4 with change leftover, lol. 😛
Wow, $6.25/4.20 to see a movie?!? love it….I would only get to see 2 and a half movies for $30!
^ Yea, I’m anti-Silver City – it’s crazy what the higher end theatres charge. I actually much rather prefer the old school ones, the difference in price is bonus. 😉
Ahh…gotcha! Thanks for the explanation! :o)
I just bought mine online through Zeller’s and it allowed me to have free store delivery.
