Not to rain on the parade, but I always found the relationship between mother and son got a little dysfunctional as that story progresses. Not one of my Munsch favourites.
T.M … read “The Kissing Hand” … great story between mother & son… brings a tear to my eyes just thinking of it & i’ve stopped reading that to my son as he’s 12 now… 🙂
Obviously doesn’t represent all relationships, nor do I think he was trying to, for all we know he was portraying his own life. Either way it’s a beautiful story.
That story is banned in many schools in the States because they don’t like the fact that a woman holds her grown son in her arms….They totally missed the point!
