Last time Harvey’s had a coupon they acted like pricks and changed the expiry date of the coupon on their website half way through the promo making the info on here incorrect and making me sound like a liar. Therefore here is a pdf printout of Harvey’s coupon just in case they act like 4 year old kids again.

What’s wrong with acting like a ‘retard’ ???? I take great offense to that term! My brother is handicapped, and has had to put up with name-calling and illicit generalizations for years because of insensitive people making off the cuff remarks. What other horrible words do you use?? Please don’t be so vulgar.

  2. Boo Radley says:

Marc, I’m terribly sorry I did not mean it in that sense. I didn’t even think about it like that and I’m very sorry I hurt your feelings. I’ve removed the word and once again I’m very sorry!

  3. John says:

please. its only a word. I can think of alot more words that are way more offensive. This world is waaay to sensitive. get over it !

  4. John says:

she also used the word “prick”. Did your penis take offense to that ?

I received an invite for this offer in my hotmail~couldn’t figure out how to get the coupon (if you look at this one it says “this coupon can only be accessed through the link provided to invited recipients”)

I just got off the phone with Harvey’s customer service. She said lots of people were having trouble with this and said she had a link for the coupon… Imagine my surprize/shock when
she said “here is a link to access the coupon …http://smartcanucks.ca …they have it in PDF format”

Anyhow what is here is exactly what is on their website and apparently the stores have to accept it. (will find out tomorrow) I put my through my photo editor and cut off the rest of the crap and turned it black and white to save on ink. I also shrunk it and got 8 coupons per page…. will share them at the office tomorrow!!!

    WAY TO GO SMART CANUCKS!!!

Marc, since this blog and these forums are lighthearted and quite giving to the Canadian public, you should have just sent a PM to Boo instead of getting so angry so publicly. It wasn’t meant to offend. Intention is everything.

In any case, Boo, I LOVE Harvey’s – totally my favorite fast food place! Though is it only accepted at those three locations?

  7. somegirl says:

    LMAO @ JOHN.
    Man alive!!

  8. nsangel says:

I love boo. He’s got the same sense of humor i have, and I’m always afraid of him banning me for saying something off-color. So i’m quite relieved to find out that he’s only human too.

and now i’m copying the incident incase i need to blackmail him later on. MUHAHAHHA

btw.. is this even valid on the east coast? i hate when it says “participating locations”.

goodness knows i’m still trying to find a tim hortons with trick or treat bags.

    hmm.. there’s a blackmail opportunity…

  9. nsangel says:

JOHN: the “she” your referring to is a he. take my word for it 😀

  10. Beth says:

The coupon is awesome ! John – not so much ! Add an ounce of sensitivity to your life and take a moment to empathize.

  11. Michael says:

Thanks! We have Harveys for Dinner! They gave us a bit of a hassle over the coupon, but good thing I printed it in French.

  13. Kturtle says:

An E. coli outbreak in North Bay, Ont., has spread to include 93 confirmed and suspected cases, a number expected to grow.

Health officials in North Bay said the outbreak in the city appears to have originated at a Harvey’s restaurant, although the source of contamination is not yet known.

The restaurant was closed Sunday evening.

  16. Ben says:

    NEWS RELEASE

    NORTH BAY PARRY SOUND
    DISTRICT HEALTH UNIT

    *************************
There are now a total of 93 cases with 15 lab-confirmed for E. coli O157:H7.

There are 78 people still under investigation.

At this time we believe the outbreak is localized to [a] Harvey’s Restaurant on Algonquin Avenue in North Bay with 75 people indicating that they had eaten at this location within the time frame.

Included are cases being investigated by four other health units.

The people who are ill range from 5 to 84 years-old.

Some are in hospital receiving treatment, while most are recovering at home.

“We are working closely with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and the Agency for Health Protection and Promotion,” says Dr. Catherine Whiting, medical officer of health. “The Public Health Agency of Canada is providing us with a field epidemiologist to work alongside our staff. The staff at [the] Harvey’s Restaurant continues to be very cooperative in working with us during this investigation.”

The Harvey’s Restaurant was closed last Sunday evening, October 12 at 9 p.m., which is the last time any person might have been exposed to this potential source of E. coli.

Given the average incubation time frame of three to four days after exposure, the peak is likely to occur within the next few days.

The Health Unit wishes to remind people who work in daycares, health care facilities or in the food service industry, that extra precautions must be taken before returning to work if you have been ill due to E. coli O157:H7.

To avoid spreading the bacteria at your workplace, you should have a doctor’s note that states your lab results are negative.

Symptoms of illness from E. coli O157:H7 include bloody diarrhea, stomach cramps, and/or vomiting and possibly a fever.

Anyone suffering with these symptoms is advised to seek medical attention.

To prevent secondary infection at home, among family members of people who have been exposed to E. coli O157:H7, the following precautions are recommended:

    1. Ensure thorough hand washing, using soap and hot running water, before any food contact, and after any toileting or changing of diapers

    2. To effectively clean under fingernails, use a nailbrush and soap under hot running water. Rinse thoroughly

    3. Have separate towels for affected individuals

    4. Clean bathroom fixtures – taps, toilets, and doorknobs – at least once daily with an antiseptic cleaning agent such as bleach and water (1:10). A separate bathroom for an affected individual is best, if possible

    5. Laundering clothing, especially underclothes, should be done in hot water and dried in a hot dryer for a recommended duration of at least half an hour. If a garment cannot be put in the dryer, direct sunshine is of benefit.

Anyone with questions or concerns about E. Coli O157:H7, may contact:

    – Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000 day or night

    – The Health until 7 p.m. tonight by phoning 474-1400 or 1-800-563-2808,
