Home Depot delivery so-called service is very bad.
They have a 3 star rating on HomeStars, most of which is about their poor delivery service.
Here is just one review:
“It may be a good idea for Home Depot to revamp their on-line appliance purchase ordering and delivery request form. The local delivery company was unable to deliver our refrigerator because of several errors caused, in part from communicating the delivery details. They use convoluted system that requires multiple information transfers between head office in Toronto and the local delivery companies. Our unit number was not passed on to the delivery driver so he was unable to find the correct townhouse in our complex. In addition, my husband had to make multiple phone calls to the 1-800 number asking why we had not heard from the delivery company. If someone had been able to give my husband the contact information earlier, all of this misinformation could have been cleared up on the spot. Instead it will be a few days until we can reschedule the delivery.”
I am having same issues (in Toronto) with waiting all afternoon and evening for a scheduled fridge delivery that never came yesterday. Home Depot claims I wasn’t home but we both were. They will lie their heads off and basically not care. They will reschedule but it’s all so unprofessionally done dealing with them.
There are MANY horror stories in dealing with getting your Home Depot purchase delivered if anyone cares to google it.
We are already frustrated so much we are prepared to cancel our order.
Home Depot used to be honest and reliable—-not any more. I can’t vouch for their competitors, but I can attest to how unpleasant it feels to be lied to. “We didn’t deliver because you were not home” says Home Depot. I had to call their 800 number twice because they never bothered to call me.
Being lied to is very disrespectful, neglecting to contact the customer is further disrespect.
