Ikea currently has a sale on, from January 25 – February 14, 2010, for 20% off their PAX Wardrobes and KOMPLEMENT Wardrobes. That can be a substantial discount if you are installing a whole new organizer/closet in your home.
I was at Ikea this past weekend and I love love love these PAX wardrobes, they are so sleek looking, everything is out of the way, neat and organized, and everything is in it’s right place. Unfortunately, I rent an apartment at the moment so I can’t alter my closet organization, plus space and money is a constraint as well. But I hope one day to have a whole small room dedicated to my clothes and they will all fit nicely into a PAX wardrobe! A girl can dream right?

Some family members got PAX wardrobes late last year. They love them. In putting them up, make sure you have high enough ceilings to lift the doors onto the top track (hard to do in 8′ high room but possible if all other furniture and light covers are out of the room to have space to move the doors; need two people to lift the large PAX doors-smaller one requires strong person to lift door onto track). Also, furniture above 29″ usually requires an anchoring mechanism at the top back so that any climbing tot does not pull the unit down. You might have to nail a piece of wood to the wall at the studs to support a wardrobe (which you anchor to the wood with screws) and in a rental situation, that could be a consideration. Give yourself a few days to get the unit together if doing it on your own or with limited help (but someone has to help carry in those LONG boxes).
January and July are the best deal months for bedding linens and related items. Not surprised that bedroom furniture/storage are also on sale.
