In the last couple of weeks it came to light that Loblaws had done away with 50% off discount stickers on expiring items, changing them to just 30% off. This change happened at several Loblaws banners, including Fortinos, who had actually stopped using the 50% off stickers on many expiring items like fresh meat at some point in December.

Due to a huge backlash because of the change, Loblaws has now announced that the 50% off stickers for expiring items will now be returning. Although they have not given an exact date for when the 50% off stickers will reappear, they have said that it will be in the next couple of weeks, and this will be happening at all banners where the stickers were recently changed. This should include Fortinos, but it does not affect banners like Superstore where the 30% discount has been the usual discount.
