they’ve been doing this for a while.

  2. Me says:

I didn’t know you’d have to bring them 6 (!!!) containers? Wasn’t it just 4 or 5? Maybe, that’s only in the States.
    🙁

  3. Rosie says:

Used to be 3 containers two years ago. Now it’s 6?????!!!!

  4. FunkyMunky says:

I wonder who has 6 containers laying around..

  5. Sandy says:

There are some eBay sellers who sell empty MAC pigment containers which can then be brought to a MAC store for their B2M program. Usually, it’s cheaper to buy those empty containers than to buy a new MAC lipstick.

  6. Gee says:

Can it be any containers? I have a few empty eyeshadow containers.

    • Faith says:

Yes you can give them empty eyeshadow containers. You can give them any containers as long as they are full size.

  7. Lyn says:

It can be any empty container (no lip pencils or eyepencil leftovers though) and some stores require the metal eyeshadow pan to be included with the eyeshadow container. At stand-alone MAC stores, you can exchange for either a lipstick, a lipgloss, or an eyeshadow. At MAC counters inside department stores, you can only exchange for a lipstick.

  8. k says:

This program recycles all MAC plastic containers. This includes brush cleaner, foundation, concealers, lipsticks etc. Anything made of glass can’t be “recycled” with their program. The exchange at the free standing stores is so wonderful!!! Especially since you can get an eyeshadow!

  9. Pam Klein says:

My mother and I use many Mac products and wonder where we can exchange or MAIl our empty lipstick tubes or other empty makeup containers in the Northeastern part of Pennsylvania.
Pleae advise store names, addresses and phone numbers

    I appreciate you time.

    Thank you,
    Pam Klein

  10. Me says:

Pam, you bring the empty containers to a Mac counter at a department store or at a Mac free standing store. Check their website for locations.

  11. jas says:

is the makeup containers like pans and tubes or the cardboard packaging they come in??

  12. Wonderful site, where did you come up with the knowledge in this blog post? I’m pleased I found it though, ill be checking back soon to see what other articles you have.

  13. Mac User says:

It does not exclude glass containers. I exchange my foundation empties all the time and the bottle is made of glass. I believe they exchange all containers.

  14. Love Mac says:

I threw away one powder compact 🙁 Now I already have 2 (supposed to be 3) empty containers. I would like to know, in Canada, which colors of free lipstick we can have.

  15. Kris says:

You can exchange it for any colour of lipstick/eyeshadow/lipgloss you want as long as it’s not a viva glam lipstick. I’m in Canada. They even let me do it for the limited edition lipsticks before. Not sure if they always do that

  16. Anna says:

Can i also include empty lipsticks? or not?

  17. Leslie Powell says:

I only purchase Viva Glam 6 lipstick. I was really disappointed to find out that I could not get my color for exchanging 6 Viva Glam tubes. Might have to find another shade elsewhere. Good buy Mac.
