Marble Slab Creamery Canada has a sizzling hot deal on deliciously cold ice cream! Bring your own Banana into Marble Slab Canada ice cream stores between May 28 and May 30, 2013 and enjoy a banana split for $5! Although they call it a “banana split” in reality it’s any ice cream of your choice! To be more accurate you get 3 scoops of ice cream of your choice, 3 toppings of your choice, whipped cream, sundae nuts and a cherry – for $5! (plus tax). You turn it into a “banana split” using the Banana you got with you 😛

If you were wondering what to get for the 3 toppings here’s a picture I found of some of the options. It’s going to be a tough decision!

That NO deal! Right now you can go to No Frills and get a yummy TUBS of Chapmans cherry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream for a total of $3. (for 3)

  2. SavingMentor says:

That’s a COLD deal, pun intended. Although I could see myself paying $5 for such a yummy ice cream, I don’t think it is a particularly good deal. I’d cringe to know what the regular price is if this is the sale price!

  3. Melissa says:

So glad to see that I am not the only one that thinks this is a ridiculous price. I can make several just as glorious splits at home for a fraction of the price (Chapmans is better ice cream anyway). And you still have to buy the banana and take it with you!

Yes, and you are forgetting that this isn’t your house but rather a business. I would pay you $5 right now if you can replicate that exact picture. I’ll bring my own banana, you give me the rest; I want a peanut butter cup in chocolate ice cream, mint ice cream with snickers, and green tea ice cream with raspberries. Give me a container to go as well. By the time you get all the stuff you will be over your $5 budget. Getting the point? Time wasted, clean up etc….

If you have the money, go and get what you want. If it was me, I would go in and buy it, mind you I know I can make the classic banana split at home; chocolate, vanilla, strawberries ice cream, why would I go buy that…i would try something new and crazy combinations.

Their ice cream is expensive, but it’s also delicious. I just moved down the street from one, so we keep getting offers in the mail (BOGO cones, $4 sundaes, ect.) so that’s the only reason I go there. If I had to pay full price I probably wouldn’t go there very often. They have some pretty incredible flavors though, I just tried the cinnamon bun a few weeks ago, it was amazing 😀

I’ve always thought it is called “Banana Split” because it’s a large enough portion to split with another person. Damn! My parents!

If you think Chapman is a better deal, I envy you. You can probably enjoy a lot of food at very low cost without telling the difference. Marble Slab offer one of the best ice-cream in the country. It is creamy without being sticky and oily like gelato or Turkish ice-cream. Their vanilla is very fragrant, it is rare because it is often a neglected base flavor. They hire people who are trained ice-cream makers. They aren’t just scooping, they are meticulous with quality. It’s a professional service that you’re paying for.

But I have problems with their toppings/design. I bought a birthday cake with gummy bears, didn’t realize the gummy bears are inside the ice-cream as well. They are freeze, rock hard! Very unpleasant mouth-feel! And it was impossible to cut though without compromising the integrity of the cake. The ice-cream alone was amazing.

There’s always money in the banana stand…

  8. Preety says:

I agree with rad. There are a lot of things I could make cheaper at home. But, I would not have the variety MS offers, and also the quality of the ice cream.

Aaaargh!!!!! The heck with the diet!!! Really these ads should be banned, then weak-willed people like me would have a chance to get thinner.
