Visit a McDonalds today. Wednesday May 8, 2013 for McHappy Day.
$1 from every Happy Meal, Big Mac, and Hot McCafé Beverage sold will go to local children’s charities like Ronald McDonald House Charities etc.
Does a charity day encourage you to shop or eat at that place?
Definitely not. I would much rather make a donation directly to an organization and get a tax receipt than go stand in an extra long line so a big corporation can combine my $1 with all sorts of other people’s $1 and get the tax deduction! When you add up the $1 here with the $2 at Safeway they ask for almost every week, and all the other places that are looking for a buck here and there, you could build up a fairly substantial donation to one charity and really make a difference.
A BIG NO !
Give me 2 bucks off and I will send in one buck myself !
Hubby wanted a big mac today anyways so I was glad it was a charitable meal
Sure does. If you have ever had to have a sick child in the hospital places like Ronald McDonald’s house are invaluable. This is not like grocery stores that add on to the total but a company that is giving a % of their sales to the charity. It cost you nothing more that choosing to eat there or grab a coffee to show your support. We also got discount coupons to try a new item starting tomorrow. Thank you McDonald’s for supporting such a wonderful service to those in need!
It made me want to go but I don’t usually eat big macs (if mcchicken or their deluxe salads were on the list it would be a different story) Also I do not go out for a hot beverage in the summer. The options were very limited but big macs are what they are famous for I guess.
